A must do trip. The Norwegian Joy is an awesome ship. The dining and everything about our cruise was first class. Any time you travel, go with the flow, and have fun. We will most definitley will sail again with Norwegian Cruise Line.
Norwegian Joy Cruise Review to Alaska - Inside Passage
This is a must do cruise for everyone of all ages. The Alaska Inside Passage was everything we had heard it would be and more!
Embarkation

This was my greatest concern and turned out to be the easiest part of the trip. Norwegian offers check your bags through to your Airline and let them do the rest. They also offer transportation to the Airport for a small fee. What a great way to get to the Airport without the hazzel. Awesome Job Norwegian Cruise Lines!

Food and Dining

Loosen your belt, and enjoy some of the best selection of food you will ever find onboard a ship. The Main Dining Rooms are excellent. The service is top notch and the food quality is wonderful. The Buffets offer as much as any you will see, and the quality of the food is awesome. We didn't eat in a Specialty Restaurant simply do to the selection and quality of food offered in the Main Dining areas. We felt it wasn't worth the additional cost, when the food and service in the Main Dining Room was so good.
Onboard Activities

We enjoyed the deck area and the opportunity to do most anything we wanted to do, from the Fitness Center to Putt - Putt Golf to the Speedway - It was a blast!
Entertainment

The shows were excellent...Make sure you attend these, as the performers were top notch. We had a blast sitting and listening to the various performers in the evening at the Atrium area. Great Fun to be had...
Service and Staff

The Service on Norwegian Cruise Lines (Norwegian Joy) was outstanding. Our Room Steward was really a super individual. He always was available if we needed anything and he kept our room clean and stocked with fresh towels or anything we may require. The waiters in the Main Dining Rooms were all top notch. We always tipped them extra, due to the service they provided.

Simply Awesome!!!
Cabin / Stateroom

This was a perfect room for us. We hadn't had a Balcony Room before, and the additional space and the comfort was great. The Balcony provided some of the most awesome views on our trip. We will most definitely have a Balcony Room on all future cruises.
Ship tip
Explore the ship after checking in to get to know the locations of everything. Once you are comfortable where things are, you can really relax and you are not wasting time getting to where you are going. The Elevators to the back of the ship are less used than the ones towards the front of the ship, as they service the Main Eatting areas, and are usually much busier than the Elevators towards the back of the ship.
We used this Port to do our shopping, so we got this out of the way. The stores and the people waiting on you were really nice. We walked the town as much as we could and ate lunch at the Alaska Fish House. Highly recommend eating here. The food was excellent, and the view is great.
Juneau was very interesting. We wish we would have had time to take the Tram ride up the mountain, but our Whale Watching Excursion and Salmon Bake took up the time. We saw Bald Eagles sitting on light poles like Pigeons. Our Whale Watching trip was incredible. We were so close to a Mother Humpback Whale and her calf that we could have touched them. Awesome pictures!!! The town really looked interesting, just wish we had a little more time here to see things.
If you can physically walk to town, do so...the walk is beautiful and once you are in town, take the time to visit some of the native shops. Meet the people, they are really great. You can get a real since of how these people live, and can appreciate the wonderful beauty they live in. Eagles abound...you will not have to look long before you see them.
I've visited Vancouver several times, but this was the first time to Victoria. Beautiful City! You have to take the bus tour and see the city, then get off and walk the areas you really want to see. We are going to make a "Special Trip" to Victoria to stay there for a few days in the future, as there is so much to see and do.
Perhaps the one part of the trip I was most conerned about, became the easiest part of the trip. Book your trip from the ship to the Airport or to your Hotel with Norwegian. If you are flying out, they will take your bags to the Airport for you, and they will also check you into your flight. All you have to do is get on the bus, and get through Security. Wonder Disembarkation! Make sure if you are flying, that you book your flight after 11:00 AM so that you have plenty of time. We had more than enough time to make our flight at 11:30 AM. Just don't chance certain things, and this is one to be safe on.
Glad you enjoyed Alaska and the cruise. We love both. I have seen a few negative reviews on this ship and cruise recently. I’m always surprised at how some people can seem to find a way to be miserable on a cruise or in Alaska.
