Review summary

We enjoyed the ship; it was beautiful and modern. Most of the crew was friendly and helpful, and went above and beyond. I am saddened at the amount of hours employees have to work. 10 to 14 hours a day, 7 days a week, for months is unreasonable. People should get a day off a week to recuperate and enjoy the trip.

Embarkation

Seattle was hectic. My wife has disabilities-both knees replaced, but made things worse, and a painful back from car wreck. I was disappointed that she had to walk so far for so long to board. It would be helpful to have a faster line for disabled people.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I liked having many choices. The upstairs buffet was generally good and selection was very good. Most servers in the lower restaurants were friendly, however, the servers were slow and I don't think it was their fault. The procedures they used seemed to have wasted steps, moving silverware and other items around and doing a lot of repetitive walking. It seemed like their training was flawed. The cooks in the restaurants also seemed slow. My wife tried steaks twice, neither were not edible.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
I enjoyed the music and comedians. It was too cold to swim. I enjoyed using the fitness center--it could be improved with some more weight machines. The sights from the balcony, outside decks, and observation lounge were great.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
I enjoyed the music and comedians.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Our room steward, Amar, room 9158, was wonderful. He was friendly, helpful, and professional. He is to be commended. Most servers were friendly (please see above comments). Mary Joan in Savor was our favorite server. She is outgoing, friendly, efficient, and helpful. She is to be commended.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
We loved it.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
For what we paid, I thought the room was too small. Our steward's attention made it bearable.

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Not well organized for as many people as boarded. Not adequate for disabled people.

Ketchikan, Alaska

SCENIC GLACIER CRUISING

2 out of 5
The main thing I wanted to see on our week long trip to Alaska was a big glacier with ice in the ocean. We had to turn around and miss this. I realize it was not the captain's fault.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Victoria, British Columbia

Disembarkation

3 out of 5
Again, there were no special arrangements for people with disabilities. My wife was in great pain during the waiting and walking of disembarkation.

They don't work all day everyday they do get time off as mentioned to take in a port or two maybe only for a few hours but it's better than nothing..

Why did your ship have to turn around and miss the glacier viewing?
