The store had a good selection of watches; but, even being tax and duty free, they were more expensive than the same models sold by ShopHQ.

Avoid the elevators - walk up the stairs, bring your own water (very expensive on the ship) and seasoning for the food. If you bring wine on the ship - as they say you can you will pay a $15 uncorking fee or something for each bottle you bring. Check your bill to make sure things are accurate.

A really good choice for our first cruise.

On glacier day, we got a table in the Garden Cafe next to the window on the aft of the ship. Were warm and dry. Was not crowded at all. Able to step out onto the deck when we wanted pictures. It was like having a skybox at a football, warm dry and food

Eat at the restaurants. You will get personalize service
phelan2fine
No lines getting on and off the ship, even though it was fully booked.

Tepannyaki is mediocre at best. Not worth the $$, food or presentation.

Utilize the Azure and Tzar's Palace dining rooms for lunch as they are less crowded than the garden café.

If you want to have a climbing wall, go with the Pearl. The Jewel does not have one. Someone said they might get one by Christmas 2014.

No complains about this cruise.

If you're an avid cruiser, don't expect the Norweigan Jewell to match their amenities. Nice to not have to dress up this time, but this ship was just average. However, when we took the NCL Pride of America in Hawai a few years back, it was great.

Make sure you plan tours ahead of time when they are 1/2 off. We thought there would be enough to do in the towns to keep us entertained and only planned one tour in the first port.

Have fun!!

Find out early if you are going to have to be shuttled into a port. In Juneau we did not know this and we waited 2hrs to leave ship. They ask all leaving ship to wait in a public area to hear the announcements. We'll if you get a high ticket number you have a long wait. Do something fun

The only "cliché" that we ran into was the elevators being full or slow to respond, but even that was "do-able". (Certainly got to know others/strangers close up and personal) :) :)

Bring a watch because you change two time zones twice!!
