Review summary

A fantastic itinerary with amazing weather. Onboard was a solid experience with good service and decent entertainment.

Getting on and off the ship on this cruise was the best it’s been on ncl.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Annoying the drinks package doesn’t include many things like water and coffee. Often choices were not available. Food in mdr was quite good as was Chin Chin. Specialty restaurants not good.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
Ncl has fallen a bit in this area, lack of diversity in trivia in particular. No change in timings etc. The big disappointment was that table tennis was unusable due to location and CD would not move. Other equipment was broken

4 out of 5
The tap group was phenomenal. The other guests were average. Igor and the main band were phenomenal. More matinee shows would have been better. Candace was incredible. The main production shows were entertaining but do lack a story line. Music around the ship was disappointing. Loved the last night concert.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Service was generally very good. Thirza and Harry on guest relations. The hotel director was very visible. Tahani the assistant CD was lovely. Waiters were mostly good. Bar tenders were either phenomenal or terrible.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Older ship but well maintained and clean. Love the promenade especially as now non smoking. Spinnaker lounge is lovely if only they would use it. Pool deck too crowded. Lack of passageways makes moving around difficult. Love the outdoor aft facing bar.

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Moved 3 times. Cabin on 11 directly below buffet and too noisy. Downgraded to tiny room on 9 also noisy and then upgraded to this oceanview with tiny porthole window. Large room with good location but noisy buzzing sound from adjacent electrical room. Leaky shower

Ship tip

On a scenic warm itinerary like this have breakfast outdoors on the aft deck.

Home sweet home

Lifou Isle, New Caledonia

Jinek Bay is world class snorkeling with the usual selfish idiots trying to destroy it because they can’t swim

Noumea, New Caledonia

Took Dal Ocean water taxi out to Signal island which is a deserted paradise

Suva, Fiji

Walked down to the museum and around town

Lautoka, Fiji Islands

Visited Belo Villa resort just off the coast, cheap and nice island with average snorkeling

Always a strange experience, not overly celebrated like on Celebrity.

Pago Pago, American Samoa

Beautiful island and friendly but shy locals. Took the cool public bus cost $2 to $2 beach which costs $5 but has nice snorkeling.

Bora Bora, French Polynesia

Walked (1 hour) to the public beach and snorkel in paradise
