Thought this would be the perfect way to see Alaska and the views were beautiful indeed. However, the cabin with a picture window that has an obstructed view and the lumpy bed kinda put a downer on my vacation. Add in sick kids running around screaming ( a group of us clapped when one lady left with her kid), 15,000 people in port at a time, and subpar food and you have a so so cruise. I guess cruising is not for everyone and I now know it is certainly not for me

Fine.

Food and Dining
2 out of 5
I’m a bit of a food snob so I was not happy at all. The buffet style restaurants were terrible and tasteless. The specialty restaurants at least had decent beef. Someone needs to teach them that pasta fagioli has pasta and beans in it. Vegetables seemed an impossible feat and we were served fries with our steak.
Onboard Activities

We did line dancing lessons and bingo. They were ok. Nothing special

Service and Staff

Our room steward was very helpful and did a great job. The waitstaff was also very attentive.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The ships layout was great. Easy to navigate and centralized elevators made it easy to get around. The ship was very clean however our fellow passengers were not. It’s all wonderful to washy washy everyone’s hands before they eat but as soon as someone’s kid wipes their nose and then goes up to the buffet it all over. Everyone of us in our group got sick from sick children onboard.
Cabin / Stateroom
3 out of 5
Would have been much better rating if I could actually see clearly out the window. Really disappointing to pay for a large window in your cabin and when you draw back the curtains it’s a foggy mess.
The bed had two depressions in it and was extra lumpy. Didn’t ask for that.
Ship tip
Make sure you bring a large travel water bottle with you. Evidently it is too expensive to include water in the beverage package and you can not bring water on board. They charge $44 for a case which is robbery. You have to ask (beg) for it in the restaurants so smart cruisers bring a to go bottle. When they dump you off in port with 20,000 other people, it’s difficult to get into any place to get a drink or some different food. So be sure to bring your water bottle full from the ship.
This is the port of Juneau not really the town. Same touristy shops and jewelry for sale. Hard pressed to find any places that we didn’t see at the last port.
Was excited to get off the ship at this point. Bathroom was so small I wondered how some people were even using it! There was no way to move around at all in there.
Didn't you know you were booking an obstructed view stateroom. Should've been prepared.
We cruised Alaska in an inside stateroom (never again) and still enjoyed every moment of that cruise.
Either you didn’t actually go on the cruise or didn’t remember your ports well since Most of the descriptions don’t match up to the ports listed. Either way, it sounds like cruising is definitely not for you since you did not seem to enjoy much of it at all
