Review summary
Things that were great!
Scenery and the overall feeling of the vacation experience in Seattle and Alaska were great. The people were friendly and welcoming. The landscape is awe-inspiring and spiritual. Spending time and enjoying surroundings with family is priceless after all.
Ship is beautiful, clean, and well maintained. Access on and off the ship was smooth and no major issues. Specialty dining on the ship was excellent in food and service, as were the smaller bars and lounges on the ship.
Photographers were great.
Now the bad news.
General dining and buffet food was bad. Service was poor in those dining halls and buffets. Just the basics of picking up plates on time and delivering water were terrible. Same issues at the big lounges like spinnaker and Fyzz. Staff was poor at service. I think its a leadership issue because service was poor across multiple disciplines. My cabin steward was poor. bad communication skills and missed two make ups and one turn down.
Ports of call times were too short also, there was not enough time to do multiple excursions.
Overall experience i rate as good because of the natural settings and the bright points in staff and overall ship condition.
