Review summary

This cruise cost almost double as the same one we took to Mexico (same ship, room and #days).  Can't say it was double the fun.  Beautiful scenery, but we agreed it was not too different from Northern MN, minus the mountains and glaciers.  The day we sailed the Inside passage was amazing.  Ports of call are very short, we always felt rushed to get back to the ship in time.  NCL always does a great job, as far as service, no complaints there.

Don't take the 12:45 train ride if you don't book through the cruise! We just made it back in time... train issues.

A lot shorter cruising season, so more competition for the rooms. Also all the ports are in 1st world countries so usually higher fees and taxes

The Seattle based cruises often have short port calls due to the overall distance travelled getting there and back. If you want long time in port you are better taking a North or South one way Alaska itinerary. Applies to all cruise lines doing Alaska. It's a very big state.
