Review summary

The ship was nice and the food was good.  I have had wider choices of food on other cruise lines.  The food was sometimes not hot but barely warm in the buffet area.  It was hard to get a drink unless you specifically went to the bar, because there were barely any bartenders walking around asking if you wanted a drink.  Rooms were great.  The only thing I didn't really like was the fact that evidently you can bring you pets on board the ship which I didn't really like.  We saw a little dog take a crap in the hallway which was just gross to me.  The little dog was not a service animal which I don't have a problem with at all.  Anyway overall a good cruise, I was just used to a little better service from being on the other cruise lines.

Ship tip

If you didn't want to have to struggle to find a seat for breakfast at the buffet then go really early or go to the dining rooms.

tlq574, Any dogs on the ship were most certainly service animals as allowed under the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Norwegian has a strict policy that doesn't even allow "emotional support" animals onboard, so the behavior you describe is surprising.

Service Dogs

Norwegian Cruise Line accepts service dogs that are trained to perform a specific task. A service dog may be needed for many different conditions, which would be acceptable under the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. In accordance with the ADA, Norwegian Cruise Line does NOT accept “Emotional Support” dogs as service dogs, they CANNOT sail.

Guests must provide copies of the dog’s current vaccination records that show all shots are up-to-date (including Rabies), as well as a USDA or International Health certificate. Guests are responsible for checking with all ports of call for any special requirements they may have. Guests are responsible for bringing all food, medication and life jacket for the dog. A sand box will be provided.
