Recomiendo el show Burn on the Floor,es el mejor q he visto. Big Smile

Very Disappointing by tomstoudt

Overall training and culture of front line and middle management is horrible.  Condescending and arrogant attitudes, no familiarly with ship and company policies proved painful to get issues resolved and answers to anything below the surface.

Nice Getaway by immovable28

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Yes I would recommend this cruise, heads up on the time change pay attention. Food was great, my favorite place was the Cuba place on the 16th Floor, nice breeze and food. The yuca and rice n beans, etc. I like the open dining, but wish that one night could have been schedule dinner.

Entertainment could step it's game up, after about Wednesday things start to repeat music. I liked the ropes/climbing course, stepped out my comfort zone n did it.

Also liked how the room keys control the lights which helps save on energy.

Getaway boring by lennyd123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship is beautiful. Water slides a lot of fun. Not much to do during the day like games or trivia. Would've like that to get out of the heat. Food in the Cafe was really good. Specialty restaurants were great, although some in our group did not like La Cucina. We found that the service wasn't that great. I think part of the issue was the lack of tips on the Unlimited Beverage package. Overall, not much to drive us to do Norwegian again.

NCL not for everybody by dfrisse338872

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was our 5th cruise and first on NCL. We had a very nice balcony cabin (9116) and did get it at an excellent price. Having never tried it before we decided we'd try booking a "guaranteed balcony" and ended up being upgraded to a larger cabin with a bigger balcony. The ship is newer (2014); bright, clean and probably a little too "sleek" for our taste. The open spaces are not as grand as those on the RCL mega-ships and the more intimate areas are not as cozy as those on Princess. The ship does have several nice innovations. The Waterfront on deck 8 provides a pleasant alfresco dining option for several of the specialty restaurants and the live music in the Tropicana complimentary dining room makes for a nice dinner/night club vibe. The entertainment was good. "Burn The Floor" is not to be missed but we always managed to have a conflict and didn't catch "The Million Dollar Quartet" which several folks told us was quite good. We did catch one of the 9pm live comic shows and it was clean (for those who care) and we both thought he was really funny. It did bother me that there is a surcharge for the "Illusionarium" show and in addition to paying for your meal in the specialty restaurants they tack on a cover charge. It's only $5 each, but for me it's one of those little annoyances like paying to check luggage on your flights that I find petty. Raise your prices a couple of bucks but stop with this aggravating nickel and dime nonsense. The service was spotty. We had a great cabin steward, Dian. The attendant at the internet café was more disinterested than helpful and the dining room staff was spotty. We had several very nice wait staff balanced by several who were borderline surly. The staff in the specialty restaurants (Le Bistro & Ocean Blue) were uniformly attentive. Having attained an age where we realize the sun is to be respected and working on that perfect tan is not the best long term health plan we lamented the shortage of shady lounge areas aboard. The itinerary was OK, but for us most Caribbean cruises are more about the journey rather than the destination anyway. We tend to book all our excursions ourselves rather than pay the cruise line premium and then be herded around like cattle. We had an excellent snorkeling adventure in Roatan and agreed we would definitely go back for that. In Belize we visited the Lamanai Mayan ruin and while we're glad we did we're still not sure if the 2 hour journey there was worth the day. Costa Maya has nice beaches and of course than we had the obligatory stop in Cozumel. We had great weather and while not our "favorite" cruise experience we're glad we went and felt it was very good value.

wonderful vacation by Dogman

Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have been to the ports that were on the itinerary for this trip but wanted to go with this cruise to check out the cruise ship. Its only a couple yrs old and I like to see how the newer ships are different.  This ship was reallllly nice!  Had so many additional restaurants to choose from.  The Illusionarium is a must to see/ have dinner at.  Very worth while for $ amy spent to see the show.  All the extras on board ie: bowling lanes, miniature golf etc were fun.  Staff was wonderful, all very cordial.  Food and selection /variety was exceptional!

nice surprise by HannaNJ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I have never been on a cruise before and was very reluctant to send a week on a huge boat with 4000 other people.  But I was pleasantly surprised.  The crew is so organized that I don't think I ever noticed so many people. There were lots of dining choices and specialty restaurants were 5 star quality. Plenty to do on the boat, trivia games, fun games, casino, piano bars, amazing shows.  The excursion team offered a variety of great excursion, well worth paying for them.  The only bad thing was the adult pool as it was very small...but I didn't care. I will go on a cruise again...and again...and again....  Hanna

Good Food, overcrowded ship by Metsakins

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The food was excellent.  The entertainment was excellent.  The ship however is crowded and noisy.  There is only one pool, and it is small.  The decks chairs are so close.  Would not take this ship again.

Getaway was very nice by ang4256

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall we had a great time. The staff was very kind. Our room was average fior three people, but the balcony was very small. We had the free drink package and when it came to getting a drink at the bar, I noticed they were not as accommodating as I had expected.   Lines were a little on the long side. Other than that cruise was great.

Great Getaway! by tonya41590

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Just got off the Norwegian getaway yesterday and I cannot rave how awesome the trip/ship was. From the beginning the staff was amazing, the ship was awesome with so much to do and the food was great. My family and friends had a wonderful time with little to no complaints.

Embarkation, process was a little annoying since we sat in the waiting area for over an hour but you do not start boarding until 1130 it is good to get there early so that you can get a early time on the boat before everyone else is loading on. My family and I sat by the pool that morning we had them check all of our luggage and where are bathing suit on it was the perfect day to sit by the pool since not many people are doing that the first day.

I don't know what the fuss is about all of the other reviews saying you have to get up in the morning to grab chairs there are so many sun chairs it is ridiculous. I will say the pool is way too small for the amount of people that are on the ship but there is a nice waterfall feature in the spice H2O deck that helps keep you feeling comfortable.

Honduras- we did the Jolly Roger Catamaran excursion offered by NCL.com. It was wonderful way better than I ever expected the snorkeling was awesome the food was great the drinks were great they also took so many pictures of us that they posted on their Facebook page which made our trip even better. So many memories captured.

Belize - we did the rain forest track and cave tubing the drive to the rain forest was about an hour so it was kind of a bummer but the cave was really cool. Worth the money since it is probably the only time I will ever be in a cave tubing. The guides were super informational and really really nice and the food afterward was also a good perk.

Costa maya- my family was upset because there really isn't a beach when you get off of the boat you need to take a taxi somewhere to get to a beach. I did the dolphin swim adventure which is right off the boat really nice that you did not have to drive to get there and the dolphin adventure was really cool. You were able to swim with the dolphins in touch them and do really cool tricks. Our guide was also very nice. Only big big big downfall was that the pictures afterward cost $60 a person seems lately ridiculous since we spent so much money to be with the dolphins in the first place. Even one picture was $40. We were able to get the CD that they have of you with 145 pictures for $40 a person and there were 4 of us. If you leave and come back they will give you a better deal but that was the best they could do. Since you can't take your camera in the water it's the only way you are able to get pictures.

Cozumel - our favorite day was just the beach we took a $30 cab ride over to Carlos and Charlie's and the beach over there is extremely nice there is a bunch of beach clubs with nice chairs that all you need to do is buy a drink or some food and you are allowed to sit there all day it was beautiful get you away from all of the crowd with all of the shopping right on the pier. After the beach we did do some shopping but were rushed because we had an hour left.

Watched burn the floor on the boat it was very good. also did the illusionarium which was awesome I've never seen so much magic up close and personal.

Honestly I have little to no complaints about anything the service was great our room steward was awesome the bartenders were generally very nice and give you so much alcohol in your drinks LOL, top shelf liquor at that. Our family really like osheehans since it is open 24 hours they have dartboards and pool tables and the bartenders were great. It oversee the atrium what you are able to see all of the game shows that go on in the boat later on at night. Ida ho is the best best best bartender !!! So fun and nice. Remembers your name and what your drinking.

I personally did not do any of the specialty restaurants since the food in the complementary restaurants was wonderful and did not feel the need to go to any of them. Some of my family members did go to some of the specialty restaurants including the Brazilian restaurant ocean blue and the French restaurant all of them raved about the food and had no complaints. Teppan-Yaki grill was awesome my cousin said that she has never had so much fun at one here in Buffalo.

The dance parties at spice H2O at night are so much fun 80s night was a blast also the glow party was so much fun as well my whole entire family was dancing.

Please do not believe any of the reviews that say the getaway is too big or the food is not good the food and staff and service on the boat was amazing.

Disembarkation- slow but not terrible make sure you look at the line in the forward and the aft there was no line in the aft where the forward had over an hour line.

5/15/2016 Norwegian Getaway Cruise by flannerysl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall I enjoyed the cruise, but not the ship so much. The ship is very large and beautiful, but not setup or staffed properly. The pool area is way too small for that ship size, could hardly get in. Bar at pool and spice h2o hardly ever had enough staff, making it very difficult to get a drink. Karaoke was lame, as the song selection is old and not current. FOD/LGBT was a joke, as it was not reserved and/or no signage, so other guests took over the space and there was no way to really meet. The first 2 port stops was not enjoyable, bad location and not much to do (think NCL should help sponsor rides to good locations while at port, as the local taxies were sketchy and we were not confident of safety). The time to board took forever, cramming many people into the room for a long time before we could board the ship. With my reservation, I had dinner for 2 at the Italian restaurant, but took 4 visits to customer service desk to get the cleared up, as they were trying to charge me.

NCL Getaway by jamesmcquade

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Summary - When we have cruised the ships have been eloguent & exciting to be on, the Getaway is a far cry from this.  It is closer to a Comfort Inn Motel and a Ryan's steakhouse.  I love NCL, but Getaway left an extremely bad taste in my mouth.  I won't sail a large NCL ship again.  Stick with small ships.

Pros - Very stable, smooth ship in the water.  LeBristo restaurant is excellent.  Bathroom in stateroom is larger than on other ships. The shows were great, especially the Million Dollar Quartete.

Cons - The ship has no pizzaz, sparkle, shine, etc to it.  It's a cattle car at best.

Pool Area - Extremely small sitting area, to sun many people sat in chairs in shallow areas of the pool.  Bands are so loud you can't carry on a conversation.  The shows & demonstrations at the pool are non-visible because everyone is packed in so tightly.  No dance area around the pool.  Only 4 waiters to wait on all the pool area.

Buffet Dining - Laid out like a buffet (Ryan's steakhouse), less choices than on smaller ships, no greeters at the doors, small staff.

Italian restaurant - Don't waste your time or money.  Waited an hour for our food at 9pm with minimum tables occupied.  Food was bad.  We did get our meal comped here.

O'Shea's, excurstion desk, guest relations area - again the bands were so loud you could not talk to each other.

Restuarants were just plain, ordinary, nothing exceptional or memorable, including the staff.

Internet - I asked why the internet was so slow & was told because the ship has 5000 guests on it.  Mmmm, a ship designed to carry 5000+ is why the internet is slow, what am I missing.  Outlook took an average of 8-10 minutes to completely download before I could do anything in it.

White Hot party or now the NEON party - Used to be a lot of fun.  This was  Techno music with 3 guys rapping in front, tons of little kids with face painted, glow sticks, teckno music, & super loud.  Nothing adult about this party unless you were in your early 20's or younger.

Disappointed by kbot61

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was extremely disappointed with this cruise.  The service was terrible.  The staff acted like they hated being on the ship.  I asked a Guest Service Rep to help me with the charges on my account.  I felt the total was incorrect.  She told me the computer calculates the total and she did not have a calculator so I could use my phone and add it up myself.

The pool area is to small for the amount of people onboard.  We could not use the pool the entire trip.

The food was OK.

We did enjoy the shows we went to.

I will not book another Norwegian Cruise.

Buyer beware on the Norwegian Geteway by DCruizers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

the food was very good. All things on the Getewaythe are extremely expensive. Shore excursions are the highest we have ever seen. Bingo is the highest price we have ever seen anywhere. The deal no deal is way over priced for the amount of money they take in. Drinks are way to exspensive.the free drink package is Not free. The minimum price of a drink is $13.00 .customer service is not good . Over all , this cruise line has become very money hungry!

Wonderful Trip on the Norwegian Getaway by CruiseJunky58

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My favorite part of the trip was being on the Getaway and traveling to the ports of Roatan, Belize, Costa Maya and Cozumel.  The ruins in Costa Maya and Cozumel were very fascinating!  The guide that we had for Chacchoben Mayan Ruins was excellent!!!  Gabriel was an archeologist and a Mayan.  He worked on the site and gave us great information on the Mayan culture of yesteryear and today.  Carlos the driver was always looking out for us to make sure we had enough water to drink.  I would definitely love to do this trip again!!!!

Big Smile

Caribbean by jimintac

Enjoyed the cruise overall.  Huge crowds at the life boat drill and disembarking for some of the shore excersions.  Make your reservations early for the special dining rooms.  No ship's pens any longer.  Charges for room service.  Room service free breakfast has been reduced to a very limited selection and amount.  Ship is too large for my tastes.

Love the Getaway! by jacikrause2585

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Getaway / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ports took opportunities to really learn more about the cultural and natural aspects of their people and space.  In Belize we did a boat tour with a Naturalist who knew every plant and creature on our trip.  In Cozumel an amazing cultural trip, museum, replicas of temples, chocolate making and the Rain producing ,pole winding ritual performed.  Roatan, The Best of Roatan... great learning experience.

The Getaway has a fun , talented crew, personable, get it done with a smile attitude.  Noisy at times, but plenty of places for quiet conversations.  Excellent food, Check out Cagney's for a really special treat. Garden Cafe, O'Sheehans, Tropicana Room, Savor, La Cucina are all excellent.  Eating outside in Le Bistro is 1 noisy, 2 smoke filled, we passed that by.

Of course, Norwegian is known for it's wonderful shows, and all 3 of the big shows were top notch.
