Review summary

Just got off the Norwegian getaway yesterday and I cannot rave how awesome the trip/ship was. From the beginning the staff was amazing, the ship was awesome with so much to do and the food was great. My family and friends had a wonderful time with little to no complaints.

Embarkation, process was a little annoying since we sat in the waiting area for over an hour but you do not start boarding until 1130 it is good to get there early so that you can get a early time on the boat before everyone else is loading on. My family and I sat by the pool that morning we had them check all of our luggage and where are bathing suit on it was the perfect day to sit by the pool since not many people are doing that the first day.

I don't know what the fuss is about all of the other reviews saying you have to get up in the morning to grab chairs there are so many sun chairs it is ridiculous. I will say the pool is way too small for the amount of people that are on the ship but there is a nice waterfall feature in the spice H2O deck that helps keep you feeling comfortable.

Honduras- we did the Jolly Roger Catamaran excursion offered by NCL.com. It was wonderful way better than I ever expected the snorkeling was awesome the food was great the drinks were great they also took so many pictures of us that they posted on their Facebook page which made our trip even better. So many memories captured.

Belize - we did the rain forest track and cave tubing the drive to the rain forest was about an hour so it was kind of a bummer but the cave was really cool. Worth the money since it is probably the only time I will ever be in a cave tubing. The guides were super informational and really really nice and the food afterward was also a good perk.

Costa maya- my family was upset because there really isn't a beach when you get off of the boat you need to take a taxi somewhere to get to a beach. I did the dolphin swim adventure which is right off the boat really nice that you did not have to drive to get there and the dolphin adventure was really cool. You were able to swim with the dolphins in touch them and do really cool tricks. Our guide was also very nice. Only big big big downfall was that the pictures afterward cost $60 a person seems lately ridiculous since we spent so much money to be with the dolphins in the first place. Even one picture was $40. We were able to get the CD that they have of you with 145 pictures for $40 a person and there were 4 of us. If you leave and come back they will give you a better deal but that was the best they could do. Since you can't take your camera in the water it's the only way you are able to get pictures.

Cozumel - our favorite day was just the beach we took a $30 cab ride over to Carlos and Charlie's and the beach over there is extremely nice there is a bunch of beach clubs with nice chairs that all you need to do is buy a drink or some food and you are allowed to sit there all day it was beautiful get you away from all of the crowd with all of the shopping right on the pier. After the beach we did do some shopping but were rushed because we had an hour left.

Watched burn the floor on the boat it was very good. also did the illusionarium which was awesome I've never seen so much magic up close and personal.

Honestly I have little to no complaints about anything the service was great our room steward was awesome the bartenders were generally very nice and give you so much alcohol in your drinks LOL, top shelf liquor at that. Our family really like osheehans since it is open 24 hours they have dartboards and pool tables and the bartenders were great. It oversee the atrium what you are able to see all of the game shows that go on in the boat later on at night. Ida ho is the best best best bartender !!! So fun and nice. Remembers your name and what your drinking.

I personally did not do any of the specialty restaurants since the food in the complementary restaurants was wonderful and did not feel the need to go to any of them. Some of my family members did go to some of the specialty restaurants including the Brazilian restaurant ocean blue and the French restaurant all of them raved about the food and had no complaints. Teppan-Yaki grill was awesome my cousin said that she has never had so much fun at one here in Buffalo.

The dance parties at spice H2O at night are so much fun 80s night was a blast also the glow party was so much fun as well my whole entire family was dancing.

Please do not believe any of the reviews that say the getaway is too big or the food is not good the food and staff and service on the boat was amazing.

Disembarkation- slow but not terrible make sure you look at the line in the forward and the aft there was no line in the aft where the forward had over an hour line.
