Overall, we enjoyed Norwegian Cruise. Although we were disappointment that two ports were missed.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Embarkation was quick and easy. We took the public train/bus which let us directly to the terminal.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Dined at the complimentary restaurants. With no reservations, wait time was usually 15-20 minutes. Staff was attentive and inquired about food allergies.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Too cold to use pools, although it was heated. Fitness center was often crowded and the facility where fitness classes were held were too small and capacity was limited to 12 or less.
Entertainment
3 out of 5
The best show of the night was the Million Dollar Quartet. Too many singing acts and bands, not enough theater performances. Circus show were with a fee included.
Children's Programs
Did not travel with children.
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
The waiters were very attentive to our needs. Asked about food allergies and were quick to serve. The room stewards were excellent. The rooms were always spotless and tidy. Ship personnel were always courteous and cordial.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was in dry dock and had major refurbishing. Nicely decorated, clean and shiny. Easy to get around the ship. The main floors where the atrium, restaurants and entertainment was located were in the middle of ship making it easy to get to reach.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We had the balcony which had a connecting door to the cabin next to us. The room was spacious and had plenty of storage space. The bathroom contained a glass shower door. The room was always clean and fresh towels were provided. The pillows were a bit stiff as well as the bed.
Ship tip
The O'Sheehan Bar & Grill was best place to enjoy chicken wings. Also, be sure to make reservations to see Million Dollar Quartet and Burn the Floor entertainment. Otherwise, you'll be on stand by.
Copenhagen was a fun city to visit. Bikes everywhere. We did the Tivoli excursion. Were disappointment to find out the excursion fee to Tivoli amusement park did not include rides, only entrance to park.
We took an excursion and traveled through a long tunnel. Then went to mountain restaurant for danish and coffee treat. Mountain top was a picture poster scenery great for picture taking. Not too much do to at the port. Some small shops and a small museum.
Busy town with many shops and restaurants. Our excursion took us on a funicular ride for an amazing view of the city. Had some time to walk around the town and do some shopping. The store owners where friendly and some accepted US and Danish currency.
One of my favorite places to visit. The fjords were magnificent to see along side the quaint little village. Our excursion took us to the mountain top where it was covered in snow, windy and snowing.
We walked around on our own and visited some of the souvenir shops and restaurants. We had pastries from the bakery which was a bit expensive, but great tasting. We visited a free botanical garden and saw a beautiful church.
We did the Golden Circle tour in Iceland and saw the spectacular waterfall. Had little time at the waterfall so we had to rush to get down the path to see it up close. The geysers were small (compared to the USA "Old Faithful" Geyser). Lunch was provided which was fish. No other option was offered to those who do not eat seafood. It was family style serving and portion was small. The volcanic terrain was interesting to see. Overall, glad to have experienced Iceland.
Enjoyed seeing Scotland. We took an excursion which led us to Edinburgh castle. Again, had little time to explore and it was crowded with other visitors. After tour we took public transportation bus to Royal Mile directly from the port for a minimal fee.
