Review summary

Worst cruise ever, and I have been on 18 cruises. Terrible dining service, food. The freestyle dining really never worked very well, always having to wait 30-60 minutes to get a table. The lunch buffet food was never temperature correct, consistently cold food. In addition at the Asian noodle restaurant I was served a dish that was taken to another table, returned and put back on the food line. I will say that the Irish pub was pretty good. They nickel and dime you to death with their up charges on prepaid packages. The entertainment was ok.

i will stick with Celebrity, Princess, and Royal Caribbean.

Totally agree. I didn't feel nickel and fined for anything. I had a great vacation without any of the premium services/things. I did have the UBP and ultimate dining package included, but apart from that I didn't feel any pressure or anything.

I agree, grandmarnnurse andaubreyvilla. We sailed on the Getaway 5/16 and are sailing on her again 4/23/17. We enjoyed our cruise and never had a wait for dining and there were 9 of us. Our bill at the end was only for items we purchased onboard. Princess had always been our favorite, but now we are hooked on NCL as well.

aubretvilla--I have to agree with you. We just sailed the Getaway in January and it was FABULOUS in every way! I never felt nickel and dime was going on. Yes, if you wanted to order something not complimentary there was a charge, but nobody pressured me to order it. I had the UBP as a perk. I paid all gratuities before I sailed. My final tab leaving the ship was only $75. I loved this ship and NCL so much, I rebooked the Getaway for next January. Some people are just never happy or too hard to please. Give me just an inside cabin on any ship, a cocktail in my hand, and the sun on my face, and I'm happy as a clam!!

Not sure that these posts are genuine.... We cruise NCL frequently and haven't seen or experienced any of this. As for the 'nickel & dime' on prepaid packages, that's plain wrong. We prepay our drinks, speciality dining & tips, and our bill at the end of the cruise is zero unless we've purchased from the shops, etc.

I have traveled on NCL and agree with you 100%. NCL is the last line I look to for cruising.
