This was my first cruise, beautiful islands but the cruise line lacked much. I would not go with Norwegian Cruise Line, I was quite disappointed with the onboard activities. I was actually bored most of the time.

It worth the price I payed, but I didn’t like the cigarette smell around the casino. You should put doors to get in.

I won't cruise on the Gem ever again...loved the Escape cruising next on the Encore with my 96 year old mother who need a scooter and we already can't get a handicap cabin...hence my concern about Norwegian caring about seniors

Would never go on the NCL Gem again. As a facility, the ship is fairly well maintained given it's age. The food is inedible at the buffet (except for the last night - it was great.) You really have to be specific when ordering your drinks or they mix up whatever and act annoyed doing it. I don't think they even know whats on the drink menu. Carefully choose excursions - they seemed like ripoffs to us. Getting off the ship is a nightmare and seems really unsafe. Passengers are herded into narrow hallways and stairwells. Tour guides will berate you for being late when it's due to no fault of your own. There doesn't seem to be any leadership on this ship.

Nice cruise. We did have a good time. The daily entertainment poolside was fantastic from live music to poolside games, the most fun we had. You can’t beat the alcohol package. 10 day trip much better than 7. St Kitts, St Lucia and Antigua great ports!! We were a bit surprised at how slow food service was in dining rooms, buffet was a better choice if you didn’t want to lose most of the night and your buzz. The majority of staff really weren’t that nice. We had a great room steward and a few great beverage waiters poolside. Most restaurant staff were rude. Benjamin in Tepanyakki was great and funny as heck. The two wonderful washy washy ladies were a delight. Ship definitely wasn’t as clean as we are used to on Disney. Clumps of hair at bottom of steps to jacuzzi, gag, public bathrooms not maintained, used drink glasses lined up by pool area just sat there. Little disappointed in the service aspect. Disembarkation was a nightmare, took forever and we were never told why. No communication on loudspeakers whatsoever.

All in all great was great. Food drinks family enjoyed relaxing by the pool with enter.

I loved cruising for 2 weeks. Its going to be hard to go back to 1 week cruises.

Going to try a royal Caribbean next. This was the most disappointing NCL cruise. Ps they don’t even serve beer buckets or 16 oz beers anymore. They are trying to force the package on everyone and make it sound like a deal when it really is not.

Prism is the best band on the ship. Singers have beautiful voices

Best way to visit Canadian Maritime provinces! Beautiful fall foliage. Friendly citizens and down to earth attitudes.

Took the fall cruise to celebrate our 50th anniversary and to enjoy the foliage. Foliage was beautiful; cruise ship disappointing; some ports enjoyable but a lot of the shops in towns were closed so you were forced to shop at the limited touristy things at the dock. Did a lot of walking, saw some interesting architecture. If your going for the foliage, yes. If your going for the port calls, go in September; if your going for the cruise, take another ship.

It was a very nice cruise. The sea was very calm and weather was mostly sunny and warm.

Asked a computer person to help us on the computer because we were having trouble getting online for our airline info but was very rude to us and did not help us. Did not get her name

This was a Great itinerary for us who live in Florida to see the vibrant fall colors. We learned a lot of the history and about the French influences. The best bang for the $$ was the thermal spa pass. Since it was too chilly for any pool time.

Overall very enjoyable cruise. Our fear was we were going to get there before the leaves changed but they were changing just about perfect. Cruise staff was very good and people were friendly in about all the ports. Fear that being in a French speaking area of Canada would be a problem was forgotten after the first port. Language was no problem.

Great cruise with calm seas and sunny weather. Enjoyed all the stops. Wonderful way to relax and enjoy fine restaurants and entertainment. Also enjoyed the subtle humor of the Cruise Director and his staff at whatever activities they hosted. It was nice to be in a lighthearted environment.

This was just my second cruise so I am still a newbie to cruising. I will cruise again for sure. Especially as a solo cruiser. Its so easy and I feel safer than if I were just traveling on my own. It would be great if I did not have to pay double for the cruise. I know that NCL has ships with solo cabins however why would I choose those inside tiny rooms? I love balconies and the chance to just relax and have a glass of wine in the evening or coffee in the morning in blissful surroundings and quiet.
