NCL, is not my top cruise line after this trip. The destinations and New York made this holiday, and the ship was just the transportation to get us to each port. Food was the best in the dining room, and the garden cafe was sad. The bathroom in the state room was tiny and very uncomfortable to use.

Funny how the clientele differs depending on where you embark. We did this ship for 31 days total- the first 21 days out of S.F. had ~5 kids total, then the 2nd part of 10 days out of NYC had 600 kids! LOL!

Nice trip but I---- Will NOT go out of NY in Feb due to the Unruly teenagers The Ship (Gem) got in to NY late, so embarkation was delayed perhaps a text would have help .I wouldn’t have gone to the pear to stand in line for 2+hr!

We loved the fact that out of ~2400 passengers, there were only about 5 kids onboard. Long cruises are like this.

Great Cruise I would recommend it to anyone who has the time. I would also like to say when you hear 20 days it seems like a lot. Believe me, it went fast would do it again but, there are too many other places that I have not seen yet.

We took a lot of excursions because of a 50 dollar credit offered and some of these ports were a little scary for the wife. But I think on the most part they were a time stealer the constant waiting for the line ups and people that cannot get to the buses on time gets extremely frustrating and you lose a quarter or more of your time because of it but if you want to go any distance book with ship all of the trips ran long and were late back otherwise if there is a town nearby walk the town in a group and you will get the flavour of the area

The trip of a lifetime! Loved the ports and the thermal Spa. Le Bistro was our favorite restaurant on the Gem. Edward at the Magnum bar makes the best matador drink. The Mojito bar makes yummy drinks

One of the best cruises I have taken and most have been great. Highly recommend this cruise and I am thinking of doing this again in 2021.

Not the best voyage for me. The food was not so good. Santa Marta is the worst port. Did not feel safe.

This itinerary was amazing. The staff was great. The ship was clean and up kept. Unfortunately food is a large part of any cruise. We ate 6 meals at specialty restaurants and they were ok. Portions were smaller but I actually liked that. Desserts were awful!! Some food had no taste at all, then others had so much salt, it was not edible.

It was fine because we all made it great giving no credit to to NCL & NCL Gem. For one (1) instance when we could get to our last port Punta Cana because we had to tender in and weather was rough they could have sailed in the warmer climate instead of heading back to the colder NYC foggy weather early (we were actually due to dock at 10:00am). All of us would have enjoyed spending the time in the warmer climate longer. I know the bottom-line is important but the paying public deserves better. I’ve got some 23 cruises under my belt so I take this seriously and I’m being sincere with my comments.

Overall great experience! This was our first cruise and we def enjoyed it! Would do Norwegian again but probably a bigger boat. Worst part was embarking

The second time around I felt the Staff wasn’t as Happy Nice Polite then the previous year

I loves the freestyle cruising as I could do it all or do nothing at all. I loved the clear warm waters, anything to get off the cold pools of the ship.

We took same ship last year and was much better. This year childcare was too crowded and we couldn't get our kids in everyday. Plus buffet cooks were very slow and lazy as if they were not happy with something! Still for folks with no childcare need it's a good value

First Cruise, Will do again on a bigger cruise line. On board activities were boring but over all fits the type of guest on cruise. Older crowd. Buffett was okay restaurants were great

The cruise ship is very clean. Staffs are very nice!! love the "washy washy" lady.
