Chose this cruise not for the ship or what it offered so much as the ports and the longer duration at each of them. Enjoyed every stop. Made friends with fellow cruisers and staff alike. Loved the onboard drink options but not so much the food. If I did it again, I would bring more euros in advance and try more local cuisine. There was not an abundance of children which my fiance and I enjoyed. I wish the Santorini stop wasn't so rushed and crowded but not sure that is avoidable in peak season.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Aside from being sold on a "Venice" embark port that was really Ravenna, it was still a great experience.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Would NOT pay extra for the specialty restaurants if I could do it again. All ship food was medicore but edible. Get real food in Europe off board!!
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Limited activities but never overcrowded. The pools were nice.
Entertainment
4 out of 5
Entertainment is more limited than other cruises I've done before, but still enjoyed what they had to offer. Very talented performers.
Children's Programs
Do not have children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff were all exceptional and we felt like we made friends. "Washy washy happy happy smiley smiley."
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was always clean and well maintained and there were plenty of areas to sit, relax, and sight-see.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Our two twin beds were impossible to keep together which left us with a giant gap where we would have liked to cuddle up. The room was small but big enough. We didn't pay extra for windows but there was no ship rocking or sea sickness. It was awesome being on the bottom deck for easy access to get out at our ports.
Ship tip
Don't pay extra for specialty dining. Just bring more euros in advance for food off ship! Wake up for sunrise in Montenegro and head to the top deck.
We paid a private driver to take us around Croatia. Reasonably priced and were able to see quite a bit. The limestone buildings were remarkable in "little Venice." We also did a walk up to a castle seen in the Game of Thrones. Don't watch the show but it was still neat.
Lots of history and architecture to be explored here. Try some pasta and watch the ladies make it on the street outside their homes. Eat a fresh peach.
We split a taxi with another couple and went to Paleokastritsa Beach for the day. GORGEOUS. Clear emerald and blue waters that we explored via peddle boat. Also had the best gyro of our lives at the restaurant bar.
Although this was our shortest and busiest stop, we still had such a nice time. Santorini is beautiful. Rode the donkeys up the steps (shorter wait than the cable car and only 5 euros). Bought almost all my souvenirs at this port as well as a little blue opal ring.
My favorite thing about this port was how much time we had to explore it. We did a guided tour and still had ample time to discover things on our own. Do yourself a favor and try some loukamades, delicious little fried donut balls of wonder.
We didn't anticipate getting any time to explore Athens seeing as we headed to the airport immediately after disembarking. However, our flight was delayed then eventually canceled and we stayed an extra night. Didn't do any of the "classic" Athens experiences since we were exhausted, but we very much enjoyed our hotel and the private beach.
