We started cruising in 2012, our first ship was the Norwegian Star.  We were hooked and have almost exclusively cruised NCL since.  Love the Jewel class ships and sailed out of NYC for a 10 day cruise on the Gem on Jan 22, 2016 beating the record snow storm.  It was a bit rough the first 2 days, as we sailed south through the storm, but we have good sea legs and were able to enjoy the ship.  Tim Kaminski, an excellent comedian, did have to fill in for the show troup during one of the rough sea evenings.  He was great, as well as the NCL troup. Their "World Beat" show the evening of the 9th day was very original and imaginative. Of course, the food was excellent and the option of a la carte dining in the specialty restaurants a welcome option.Love
