Nice .....but.... by bobbybeer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

Like I said in comments it’s a beautiful ship. What I don’t like is paying more and getting less. The shows are good but one you have to pay for and their excuses is you get dinner. Well I should have an option to see it for free and no dinner. Adult pool area grotto is nice to cool off but would rather a pool.

I really wanted to like NCL, but.... by styme123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

I had researched many of the cruise lines before picking NCL, and thought it would be a great fit for us. I read about all the things the ship had to offer and the positive reviews posted. I had cruised before with Princess and was looking forward to comparing the differences. For me it was kind of like it looked/seemed better in the pictures than in reality. Very crowded in many of the popular things to do so couldn't even try things out. I can only sail when schools are out so sailing at other times isn't an option. I thought the passengers on the cruise were very friendly and seemed to be behaved even with all the drinking. The kids didn't seem to be out of control either.

Great Cruise to Bermuda by Broz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

Great Cruise! I was disappointed in the NextCruise deposit deal. I was under the impression that I would receive on board credit if I purchased while on board. They did match my $250.00 deposits, so I paid $500.00 for 4 credits worth $1000.00. Good deal but I expected on board credit. Now I have 2 deposits to use in the next four years. Looking back I should have only purchased 1 deposit, there was no incentive to buy all at the same time. I could have just purchased the next deposit on the next cruise. Now I feel locked into NCL and I do enjoy other cruise lines as well.

Bermuda by Shana28

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

The ship was big the pool very small and only 1. The other is for kids. If your room is forward, hope you like to walk. No elevators near. Must hit the Mojito bar. All different flavors. Not real way to make them but are still amazing. Specialty restaurants...cagneys and Brazilian steakhouse a must. La cucina was good too. Shows are ok. Brat pack the best. After midnight we found boring and walked out. The dock. Beaches to see are snorkel bay beach and horseshoe. Both have stunning water and white sand. Horseshoe bay, you take a van for $7 each way. The chairs are $45 for 2 chairs and umbrella. And they take cc. Bring a Visa or MC because most places dont take amex. If you want choice placement, get there early. It is the most popular beach. Nice waves to dive into. Snorkel bay beach had chairs for $10 or $15. Clear blue water and you can stand far out into water. If you snorkel, do it here. The best fish to see and they swim very shallow. Also if you like watersports, everyone did it here. Rum swizzle a must. It is the island drink and here $9. Worth it. Must try at least once. Ok now the ferry to Hamilton on Wednesday night. Everyone said it's a must. We could have taken or left it. No big deal. A few vendors selling things. The nice part for us was we sat at red dog bar outside and watched the "famous" locals banging on a drum and dancing down the street. We went during their cup championship so most places were closed from wed to sunday. So we couldn't shop. The ferry ride goes only st certain times. Its $9 rt and takes 20 min to get back to ship. Dont miss it because the bus some waited over an hour for and it takes an hour to get back. All and all, the 2 beaches I mentioned where the places to go. Book any excursions at the dock. Much cheaper. Most were boring so we did none. Hope this helped you and enjoy.

Highly recommend NCL Escape Bermuda cruise by jd0932

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

My wife and I had never been on a cruise before and went on the Escape to Bermuda for our 10th anniversary. Rarely in life do things exceed my expectations but this trip certainly did! The ship is absolutely amazing. The shows are great as are the bars and casino. I highly recommend The Choir of Man and Howl At The Moom dueling pianos show. We were with the Kosherica Kosher group and they did a fantastic job. We highly recommend them especially Avrumi and Rochie Flaum as well as Rabbi Yossi Birnbaum. Bermuda was quite pleasant as well and I highly recommend doing some snorkling. The only dissapointing thing about Bermuda was their capital city of Hamilton is quite boring. They try hard to make it an upscale city but fail in that effort. We were hoping to experience some more culture and have an Island feel which we did not find. We would definitely go on the Escape again and would most likely try out a new destination. Also our Cruise Director Alvin was hilarious!

Fabulous! by stacyr69

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

What a cruise! 3rd time on Norwegian to Bermuda. Different ship every time just to keep it fresh. We love that we're in port for 3 days so we can exhale and relax and not worry about missing something. Makes everyday count. Bermuda is just amazing! We've done the Restless Native Snorkling trip, the jet skis, make sure the water is calm that day, and the caves. The free ferry service from the Dockyard to St Georges Norweigian provides makes everything simple. Still lots to do if you want to spend time at the Dockyard. Great restaurants, shopping and a fun beach area. Only way you can be bored is if that's what you want to do!

Ok just got back and... by patiow

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Ok just got back and I wanted to share my thoughts on the Escape while my memories are fresh. Cons..first and foremost the ship was way overcrowded, the atrium especially when there was a popular event. The chair hogs were unregulated so between those people and the overpopulation, getting a spot to sit on 16,17 or spice H2O was tough. You have to make reservations for any show and arrive early or you can pretty much forget about going. The iconcierge app works terrible and the ship WiFi cuts in and out constantly. Pros.. the waterfront is a great place to get away from the crowded areas. On port days the ship was quite pleasant, no lines or masses of people around. The ship is layed out well and is easy to get around. We enjoyed the specialty restaurants more than any of the other restaurants. The main dining room, osheenans, and the buffet were hit or miss. Next time I will try to do specialty restaurants every night and skip the the regular ones. The staff for the most part was great and did their jobs very well and seemed to care about the guests. Our balcony room was clean and nice. Bermuda was excellent. Friendly helpful people there and it’s the nicest island we have been to. Overall we enjoyed this trip and would do it again. But offseason.

Don’t know when I can’t... by kentw99

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Don’t know when I can’t remember a more enjoyable Vacation. Thank you to the staff, Arnold who did an job keeping our room clean and fresh. We celebrated my wife’s 50th birthday and we were greeted after dinner with Champagne, cake,Chocolate covered strawberries and the room festively decorated. She had suffered a Stroke the week before and we did not know if this was going to be possible. Miracles happen and thank you all. We are hopefully planning a Cruise for next year to Bermuda again. The only drawback was the entire rudeness from the workers in terminal when we returned. Maybe because of all that happened in New York, 🚢🌴😎👍

Beautiful Bermuda by Captainjim54

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

This is a magnificent vessel ..., enjoy the multitude of sun decks. Enjoy the smaller complementary dining rooms. Treat yourself to a weekly pass to the Thermo spa, it’s where the normal people hang out. Try specialty restaurant or two.

I was so excited when... by PattyPags

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

I was so excited when Norwegian announced different ships sailing from NYC. This meant new entertainment. Norwegians hospitality, entertainment, and food amazing as always, however. I did not like the fact that you had 1500 extra passengers and no extra public area space. This ship is not smoker friendly. Smokers were confined to the indoor humidor room, casino, Spice H20, or upstairs pool bar. Waterfront on deck 8 where on the Breakaway u could sit comfortably on the outside and enjoy a cigar and beverage was not allowed. Security actually wrote out tickets for smoking. So if u r a smoker u r confined to the full sun at H20 with high tables and no stools and 4 low tables with chairs for 10 people. And no shade from 11-6. Very uncomfortable non-smoking and smoking pool bar stools. Don’t attempt to try and sit at the pool on sea days. Garden Cafe was also impossible to find seating. U practically had to watch people eat and swoop in to get the table when they were done. A huge waste of space was Margaritaville. People with no place to go sit we’re heading there for the vacant tables and couches to sit and relax, wait can’t do that, it’s a PAY restaurant, chased from there. Other Norwegian ships give u outside lounge chairs on the lower decks to escape for some quite time, not on this ship. Outdoor parties were impossible to get into unless u got there 1/2 hour early. Very disappointed with that aspect of allotting extra time just to get into a outdoor party. For full entertainment, u need to visit the box office immediately when u get on ship. Form with all shows and show times must be filled out and reserved. First time with speciality dining and being a party of 8 it was very stressful trying to coordinate diner reservations with all the free entertainment as well as paid entertainment. We missed a lot of entertainment due to late seatings for diner. Complimentary restaurants were fine with party of 4-8 on any given night. Casino deck, people going out with drinks and smoking, just give them a comfortable outdoor area to accommodate them. No one else is using the space. New ships are beautiful, however they need to accommodate everyone. Not enough common space for the extra people on this ship, space for Smoker or non smoker we all paid for this cruise and we all should have multiple available comfortable seating areas. This was my 6th Norwegian Cruise and it was not an Easy Peasy Cruise like the others. I felt there was challenge everyday.

Just got off the NCL... by k95c00

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Escape

Just got off the NCL Escape. Staff was nice and the food was good. I have to rate the ship 2 stars, because we has neighbors who were up 5 out of 7 nights fighting with each other, yelling, playing loud music, and being belligerent toward each other. I called guest services multiple times with no success. I even went to guest services in the am asking for help, because I had been on the phone in hold for 20 minuets at 3:15 am! I spoke with the supervisor who said “ their is nothing they can do and they are sorry.” Unfortunately my family will not be back.

Beautiful Ship, but so many passengers makes it hard to actually participate in the offered activities due to limited avalability by sd973nj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

The Escape is a beautiful ship! Keep in mind the size and number of passengers when booking. NCL is known for its concept of "Freestyle Cruising", but you need to make set-time reservations for the specialty dining and shows, so the concept is defeated.

Wonderful summer getaway!!! by smilley424

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Bermuda

Norwegian has stepped up to the plate with the newer ships. They are bigger better and have more to do. More importantly, the entertainment was great (our previous cruise with NCL had painful entertainment) and the food was above and beyond expectations. Don’t skip the specialty restaurants or entertainment!!
