Review summary

Just got off the NCL Escape. Staff was nice and the food was good. I have to rate the ship 2 stars, because we has neighbors who were up 5 out of 7 nights fighting with each other, yelling, playing loud music, and being belligerent toward each other. I called guest services multiple times with no success. I even went to guest services in the am asking for help, because I had been on the phone in hold for 20 minuets at 3:15 am! I spoke with the supervisor who said “ their is nothing they can do and they are sorry.” Unfortunately my family will not be back.

Moving them to a cabin that is empty when the cruise is under way would not have lost the cruise line any money and would have satisfied an unhappy guest. They should have INSISTED to moved....and I mean pack up out of that cabin and present themselves to the guest services desk and tell them they will sleep in the atrium till they give them a room....even if it's an interior room. It's better than being unable to sleep in the cabin next to the warring couple.

There is probably legally or policy wise only so much they can do. They probably hope the situation will resolve itself unless there is violence involved. Do they have any kind of security on board? I had violent neighbors above me in my.apartment and the land lord didn't want to get involved because he ddint want to get hurt. I called the cops a few times. Not much they could do either. It is probably possible that they còuld have moved your rooms . I dont know what there capacity was but probably not 100 percent and generally in customer service you should do what ever is possible to keep guests happy. Doubt they could legally cut them off of booze unless it was beyond doubt that it was the reason for the behaviour. Even if they did if they paid for their drinks in advance (all inclusive) the cruise line would need to refund them or they would likely get sued. I've had years of customer service and sometimes there is nothing you can do so you end of looking like you dont care.

Ship should have some sort of record of your complaint and what if anything they did. I'm going to keep that web address in my phone in case I ever need it.

www.ncl.com/case-submission. Not sure about the hyphen after case, but try it with, see if it goes. If not remove it. It says NCL is committed to loyalty base(hopefully) but doesn't react favorably to threats or over reacting. State your complaint, give the date of the cruise,the destination and the ship, and stateroom number. State your proposed solution specifically & keep it reasonable. I hope this helps.

Definitely write a letter to corporate. You may get just the right ear and get another cruise...or at least 50% off. It can't be too hard to find an address for corporate offices. NCL should compensate you in some way.

Yes, I spoke with guest services and they stayed that they spoke to the people, but besides that they could do nothing. I suggested not allowing them to buy alcohol while on the ship, because I suspect that was part of the problem, but NCL did not want to do that either. I was and am very disappointed. Yes, it is bad PR for them, but they didn’t seem to care, because their will be other people to go on the cruise... they seemed to want to keep one drunk belligerent couple happy.

Be sure there was another cabin on that ship. There is no way that there wasn't a single empty cabin to move to. It always surprises me that they can't move someone who is being disturbed.....or move the party that is being disruptive. Shame on ncl for not putting the comfort of a guest on a higher priority. That person won't be back. And they will tell others about their bad experience. Bad PR for ncl.

NCL should have made more of an effort by either warning the unruly guests -one presumes that there are some standards for acceptable behavior, they don’t tolerate rowdy drunks-or found another room for you. No available rooms? Then a comped specialty restaurant dinner or excursion, something in good faith.

Agreed viviennepagano. A cruise is a lot of money for EVERY cruiser, no matter what room your in and you deserve an enjoyable vacation. I'm very disappointed with NCL guest services for not doing more in this situation. Shameful.

even people in the inside rooms deserve peace just because you spend all that money for the haven doesn’t mean you won’t have rude neighbors for the week Disrespect come any every price point!

This is an unfortunate situation. You are stuck on the ship for 7 nights, having to deal with these people. Do you know if guest services tried to contact them to let them know about how they are affecting their neighbors? If they did, I’m not sure what else could have been done.
