Awesome Escape!!! by tkantola

Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Loved the cruise.  Couple things would be nice to have futon or sofa on balcony instead of two chairs or a reclining chair. Wasn't big fan of up charge a few of dinner items but overall ship was great

Nice Cruise by rmilano048

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

NCL Escape is a nice ship! The crew is very friendly and helpful. Entertainment was full of energy and vibrant! The food as a whole was a little lacking in the main dining rooms, especially during breakfast and lunch. The menus were bland and not much creativity. The Specialty dining was very good! The itinerary was ok.

Not much to do in Tortola or Nassau. St Thomas is always a nice destination. We would book another cruise on the Escape at the right price!

CHANGES AND INFO by hgg7707

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My third time on the escape. The first two were exceptional but this time I was disappointed in some of the food changes and when you asked questions the answers from two different personnel were different so you didn't know who to believe. Some bartenders at the wave pool were not very friendly and they tried to cut corners on making some drinks by not putting the right liquor in certain drinks.Like I said this is my third time. Don't know if this is there new standard but one would hope not.

Cruise review by sabsmitz5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Escape was a beautiful ship, but we were very disappointed. Several days we went to the pool deck and no available lounge chairs. Many of the ahows were booked with no availability. Specialty dining was a perk, but no availability until 9 at night. Drink package was good. Staff were very friendly. Spent a lot of $ on a cruise. We didn't enjoy. Very stressful at times. Not the vacation we expected. We won't ever cruise this ship again unless there are changes.

Norwegian Escape, Eastern Caribbean by mulstank

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had a balcony room which was very nice.  The staff was very helpful and friendly.  The adult swimming pool was very small for a ship this large. Very difficult to find two lounge chair next to each other.  The complimentary dinning rooms had up charges of $19 and up on close to half the menu. Breakfast in the buffet dinning had almost non existent roving coffee replenish staff.  I only saw 2 in seven days and they never offered a refill.

This was the worst cruise I have been on by thairsto2003

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The food was bad, service sub-par, ship was beautiful but did not seem to have enough room to accommodate the number of guests. Way too many unruly kids. I was quite glad when it was over. Big waste of money, I wish we had done anything else for vacation.

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Yes i would recommend this cruise it is a lovely ship .I'm sorry this sailing I did not use the amenities. Nor did I see any. Shows. I did go to two of the restaurant s on board. They were very good .service and food .

As to what. May need attention ?

. There was an insidance in the atrium.. A man was not steady on his feet I saw him as I walked past him .  ( I watched him come towards the pilar. people most likely thinking he was drunk ) I personally was not sure )

.Even when he was  Very  close to my face when I. Was the only one there that got

Down  to see if he was ok and. The only one to help  him up..

A man brought a tisue.I told him I was not with him. And still I attended his face.

A woman in front of me . Created a scean about her shoe SHE BROKE MOVING AWAY FROM BEING ANY SORT OF HUMAN BEING .People scattered like roaches(Amazing)  So attention to. just any one on stage to see to such situation.

Sept 2016 Escape cruise by roz93

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This ship was beautiful, my room was beautiful as well. The service throughout the ship was excellent!

I really enjoyed the H2O deck with the grotto for cooling off and the deck for catching some sun with a fabulous view!  At night on the same deck there were high energy parties!  So much fun.

The food was delicious no mater where you ate.  The buffets were bountiful delicious. The dinning rooms sit down fare were also delicious.  We went to 3 specialty restaurants all went above and beyond our expectations.

The entertainment was good.  I enjoyed the shows.

All in all a great vacation!

Great Cruise by PhillyBrownGirl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall the cruise was very nice.  I was disappointed with the teen club (here was no real supervision and the employees there were very rude) and the onboard internet.  NCL should have parental controls on the Internet.

The Ship was beautiful and I loved my Haven Penthouse on the 17th Floor.   The ports were great and we enjoyed ourselves.  The shows on the ship were good, though Bingo was expensive.  The food at the dinner show was terrible but the show was great.  that was the only bad meal I had on the ship.  I heard others say that the food was not that good on Friday and everything was rushed. However, I was was very disappointed that even though  I had paid more for my suite this year versus last year on the Getaway, the Thermal Spa was not included and the  Specialty dining was only for 3 nights versus last year when we received the Thermal Spa and the dining packing was for five nights.  Since I paid a lot more money I expected the same services or better. I thought that the concierge on the Getaway was far better than on the Escape.  When I told her about my  issue with the Thermal Spa I felt she did not put much effort in coming up with a satisfactory solution. When we had a problem with the Gym noises being above our room last year on the Getaway the concierge worked to get us a credit and  had them put some mats under the the treadmill.  We did not see the Butler except when he put  snacks in the room.  Norwegian needs to look into getting another  Tour company for Miami as the Big Bus companies bus broke down 3 times, there was no AC and the Tour person had to pay for us to take a cab to the Airport because the Van did not sow up due to the 911 checkpoints at the airport.  Norwegian should have let the guest know about the checkpoints at the airport because I am sure some folks missed their flights home.

Great Escape, Great Ship, Great Service, & Great Food by Cruiser1901427

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Escape / Destination: Caribbean

My husband & I liked that we could make reservations for the free shows and dining rooms, besides the reservations for the specialty restaurants, so we could dine by ourselves or with others and have the variety that you usually have to pay extra for on other cruise lines.  We did purchase through our travel agent a 3 specialty restaurant package to be able to try the Brazilian Steakhouse w/ tapas salad bar; the French Bistro; and The Supper Club with a musical show during a lunch with 6 wines. (Only offered 1 time in 7 days, but fun).  All were excellent!  We went to a cabaret show and gourmet dinner in the Supper Club another night (all free, except your drinks).  We've eaten in many fine restaurants and this was up there with them. This you must have reservations for and it may only be offered 1 time during a week long cruise.  The large main dining room has a dance floor and only other place to dance is the Skyline Bar which is on the Casino floor.  This ship had waterfront dining off of most of the restaurants which is not common, but very nice.  All the food in the "free" dining rooms was also excellent!  They had very good quality steaks and seafood, which isn't always the case on other NCL ships or other cruise lines we've been on.  Prime Rib Night in the Irish Pub on a couple nights (excellent and reservations are not required).  They also know how to poach an egg and had many eggs benedict versions and smoked salmon in the Savor & Taste dining rooms (but not on the 16th floor buffet).  The ship is one of the biggest and only a year or so old and was very nice & very smooth even as we were on the fringe of a hurricane.  Service was exceptional in every department with very friendly and helpful (foreign) staff. So good, in fact, that we filled out many small little comment cards with praise. The ship had the usual bars, karaoke, spa, exercise room, shops, movie time only twice in the atrium & once by the pool, but comfy and good viewing ($10.00 on demand movies in your room), a lovely atrium with color changing chandelier.  Special places we liked: There was a dueling pianos/comedy club room/bar, which was a big hit!   9 hole putt-a-golf; (2) nice ping pong areas with 2 tables each; (2) inner tube slides & (2) scary, straight drop down slides for the more adventurous.  Also unique to this ship was an obstacle course with planks and swinging bridges, for the adventurous & those not afraid of heights, even though you are harnessed in with a guide rope for security.  I did it, but once was enough, and could not bring myself to "walk the plank" over the ocean for an option to pull a cord to take your picture for $25.00. The pools weren't overly large, but we're plenty fine with plenty of chaise lounges and movie screen and TV's out by pool.  Lots of Jacuzzi's on different levels and an adults only pool and a waterfall wading area to get out of sun.  Must explore different deck levels to find neat little places to relax on the decks.  Lots of varied entertainment:  Great "Cotton Club" show with singing and tap dancing; 4 guys singing like the Jersey Boys, very talented and funny; a juggler; at least 3 comics; a variety show the 1st night; and don't forget The Supper Club if you like entertainment while you eat!  It was my birthday and this ship made it quite special! We've been on at least 25 cruises and never have been on any of them more than once, but may have to go back on the Escape & take our daughters.

our latest trip by margaretdewey

I would recommend this cruise line to any new cruisers who have children.  The water park for little ones is good for them and the waterslides for older kids is great.  If the kids are having a good time than so will the adults!
