Strange design that really cut down room. Very little room between end of the bed and counter. 2 people have to go 1 at a time. Otherwise, not a lot of non-sleeping time in the room so it was tolerable. Nice balcony because of location.

Ship tip

The ship is large and you have to get use to it. Spend early cruise time getting to know where things are and how best to get there. Not a typical cruise ship layout.

Ports of call

Santorini was beautiful. However, there were too many ships there. Getting on the cable car to get up and down was very slow. A couple of the ships were Norwegian. Because the line for the cable car was too long and we were concerned about all aboard time we walked down the spiral walkway. 40 minutes to walk down .6 miles. Distance not bad, but the walkway is slick and dangerous. You also have to share the walkway with donkeys, which only made things worse. Then 40 minute wait to get in the tender. Leave lots of extra time after your tour do you can take the cable car down. Many older people will not be able to safely navigate the walkway. Tour of Santorini is a must, but plan return accordingly.

Took a private tour and saw a lot of things. Private tour (as in only 2 of us, which we didn’t know when we booked) was fantastic and very reasonable. It would take 4-5 separate ship tours to see all we saw. Additionally, we could move at our own pace instead of the pace of the tour guide and slowest person in the group. Our private tour driver was great. He dropped us at each place and we would call him when we were ready to go and he would meet us where he dropped us off.

Katakolon (Olympia), Greece

Great historical sightseeing. However, the tour required lots of exertion. Fine for us, but a lot of people would have issues with it.

Valletta, Malta

Absolutely beautiful. As far as beauty and scenery it was the #1 stop.

NAPLES (POMPEII), ITALY

Pompeii is a must see.

Lots of people trying to use too few elevators, but otherwise uneventful.

Thank you for your review. I heard that Greece is looking at reducing the number of cruise ships coming in. I have read in several reviews there are too many ships in port at the same time and difficult getting in to Santorini. It’s such a beautiful island too!
