Review summary

Won't sail on the NCL ever again. The newer ships are too crowded and there are not enough shore excursions or dining slots for everyone to enjoy.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
only bright spot was the ease of boarding

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Main dining room was pretty good. The buffet was OK but I have had a better experience on other NCL ships. Specialty restaurants were not worth the cost

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
nothing worth my time

Entertainment

1 out of 5

Children's Programs

not a child

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
The only crew member that seemed to know their job was our room steward. Most of the crew seemed clueless about their roles.

Ship Quality

1 out of 5
ship designer and cabin designer should be drawn and quartered for their designs

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
layout has to be the worst I have ever experienced. Clumsy and awkward are the best descriptors

Ship tip

cancel your reservation

The Epic is one of a kind, I wouldn’t use it to judge any other NCL ships. It was the first of the Meg’s ships, largest when it was built. It’s now the oldest of the large ships and starting to show its age. The newest class of Prima ships have a lot more public space and some of the most per passenger.

Wonderful itinerary! The room configuration on the Epic is different, but it worked great for us on a Mediterranean cruise. We had several early mornings, and the split bathroom made it easier for my husband and I to get ready at the same time.
