The best way to see Europe for the first time! Fell in love with Spain, France and Italy and felt like we saw a lot. This is NOT a relaxing cruise- it’s a get up early every day and see the world cruise!
Embarkation

So easy. Barcelona is so lovely!
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We didn’t have traditional dining, we had to wait for a table every night and didn’t have a set waiter. This is something I missed on this cruise!
Onboard Activities

Enjoyed the pool days. We had a lot of time on shore too!
Entertainment

Lovely ship.
Cabin / Stateroom

Did not like the design of the balcony room. The balcony itself was large but is stuck out and people up on top of the ship could see down on parts of it. The bathroom sink being in the main cabin was strange and I missed it being in the bathroom. The toilet was way too close to the bed! The frosted glass bathroom “walls” were strange, we were on a large group trip and one of our friends brought his daughter and had to leave the room when she wanted to use the bathroom.
Ship tip
Really look at the cabins and decide on the best one for your trip!
We tore a page out of the cruise ship excursion Book hired a taxi had them take us to the same beach had a fantastic time it was beautiful we ate at the restaurant we swim in the pool at the resort next-door it was a wonderful last stop on a cruise. Did some souvenir shopping right there at the beach jumped in and easy to locate taxi and went back to the ship.
Vatican tour was super busy. So many tours i felt like i really didn’t get to enjoy a single thing. The Rome tour by bus was so pretty. So glad they stopped at the Coliseum!
We did a private 8 person tour to Mt Vesuvius, then to a winery and then to Pompeii it was so nice! Drinking a glass of wine in Naples, next to Mt Vesuvius, under an olive tree was a bucket list large check!
Four stars only because the people of Pisa gave out wrong change on purpose it seems every where we went. Paying for the bathroom AND being ripped off seemed rude. Love seeing the meaning tower and then went to a winery.
We were tired of the hard core tours so we did a beach day and it was fantastic. Went to a private beach and had chairs and water service. Drinking a bottle of wine on a beach in the south of France was another check on the bucket list for sure.
To no1epicfans- just an FYI this was an incentive trip. We had no choice on the cruise the cruise line or the room. This is review. Sorry it hurt your little feelings
😂
No epic fan - I don't think the poster was complaining, just stating her opinion about missing certain things. I know we get tired of complaints, but we also jump to conclusion over nothing. Sometimes, a comment is just that!
I stayed in a solo cabin on Epic in the Med and just loved Epic. I love free style dining. Some excursions ran very late but I knew I could always get meals with Free Style. I hate setting down every evening with the same strangers that I probably don’t have a thing in common with. Plus there has always been one wife who thinks her dumb ass husband is so adorable the single woman would want him! Does make an uncomfortable dinner.
This cruise is exhausting because you are trying to see all you possibly can in a short time. I did love the cruise and the Epic.
I can’t believe that people are still moaning about the bathroom layout! Just look in an NCL brochure or on their website and you can quite clearly see the layout; it’s not as if they try to hide it!
And as for not having “traditional dining” and “a set waiter” at meal times, that’s because it’s Freestyle cruising. This is NCLs USP and, again, they don’t hide it! I struggle to comprehend that anybody could even think about booking a cruise with NCL and not be aware of this!
