I embarked alone but before the end of the first evening I was into a large group of like-minded people. All close to my age and all extrovert, well you must be if youre prepared to cruise alone

I was here promptly just after opening every evening. It was my perfect place. It suited me entirely and I never wanted to leave. Its located right next to the Cigar Room too and I still enjoy a decent smoke partway through an evening when on holiday
Onboard Activities

I was berthed in the Solo Lounge, which comes with its own private bar AND a Director of Entertainment whose job it was to ensure reservations for shows, karaoke and any restaurant table is taken care of. The solos jelled very quickly and the Director easily reserved tables for twenty diners. Plenty of cosy bars, each with a distinct theme, but I spent every evening in the Piano Bar (also known as The Martini Bar) and each night was better than the last. Great floor shows too in a large theatre and an excellent karaoke bar which doesn't open until late in the evening

Adult entertainment was outstanding and included a live performance theatre, a casino, an ice-bar, a couple of night clubs and a well-stocked cigar lounge complete with leather chesterfields and waitresses who ensure you don't need to move for anything while reclining with a good smoke

I didn't use them but as a senior solo I was never bothered by pesky kids because the ship ensured they were entertained seperately in their own zone . . . no adults allowed ha ha!

I stayed in the Solo Lounge, with its private access, private bar for everyone to meet each evening prior to dining, dancing & drinking. I loved it
Ship tip
I bought an all you can eat & drink package but I think I must have been the beneficiary of a deal because it was ridiculously cheap, so cheap I got my money back on the first night . . . yahoo. I booked via VIRGIN and its entirely possible the price was a one-off but definitely worth asking for. Other travellers paid considerably more for the same thing
Naples was ok but its a bit 'flat' during the day. I felt rushed, so to return to the ship in good time, so I vowed to stay on the ship for the remainder of the trip
