Review summary

We had a fun time, but we would have preferred specific dinner times as well as being seating at the same table every evening so that we could get to know our waiters/waitresses as well as other guests. The entertainment should have had fixed times in the evening such as 7:30 and 9:30 and not 8 or 10:30.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Getting on the boat was an easy process, but there were more passengers waiting than available seats to wait in.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The main dining rooms were good, but there were too many dining rooms that you had to pay extra for. There should be plenty of options other than buffets, an Irish pub and the Taste dining room.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
I enjoy Bingo, but the cost was prohibitive. The norm is to charge $5 a card and not $50 or$70 to play. The pools were nice, but on the small size. The jogging/walking track was on the small size as well.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
One thing that we found disappointing was the lack of "free" shows. The comedian/magician and the Beatles were excellent, but that they were the only shows we attended. Normally we attend a show after dinner on other cruises.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
The service was excellent. The cabins were kept very clean and comfortable. The waiters and waitresses did excellent jobs as well as the other personnel on the boat.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The ship was very clean and the lay out was nice. All the common areas were clean and well maintained.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
The cabin was very comfortable and kept very clean

Ship tip

Expect to have to pay to dine in different restaurants. Don't expect to see a lot of shows since the times are not conducive to most people.

Ports of call

Barcelona, Spain

5 out of 5
We liked Barcelona but it was too commercial. We toured Barcelona on our own since we stayed on after the boat docked there. The metro was easy to use and it was easy to get around the city.

Naples, Italy

5 out of 5
We loved Pompeii. We went on an excursion (but it was not with the cruise line). The boat's excursions were too expensive for 4 people.

Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy

5 out of 5
We were disappointed that we were not able to see the Cistine Chapel, but loved the Colisseum and the Forum. We ate in a terrific restaurant that our guide recommended. The excursion again was not with the ship.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

5 out of 5
We enjoyed visiting the leaning tower of Pisa, but we didn't get to see much of Florence. The excursion we took was not with the ship.

Cannes, France

4 out of 5
We enjoyed taking a trolley around Cannes and having a bite to eat at the Ritz Carlton. We did not take an excursion since it was Bastille Day and a lot of things were going on.

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

4 out of 5
We enjoyed our visit to the Mallorcan pearl factory. Then we were dropped off in the downtown area where we walked in and out of many shops. This little excursion was with the ship. We had a nice time there.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
It was easy to disembark since the ship was very organized in the various colored luggage tags. The luggage was waiting for us and we were able to get into a taxi quickly.
