Our first cruise experience and we had a wonderful time! We are ready for another one! Ship was huge but we'll decorated, signed and maintained. Crew was friendly. Rooms were kept super clean! Food was great!
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Lots of people checking in at same time, but lines were well organized and moved quickly
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
Main dining restaurants were very good. Nice variety, well staffed, food came out faster than expected, no waiting for tables. We did not go to speciality restaurants, felt that cost if cruise was expensive enough and didn't need the add-ons.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
Lots of things to do on the ship if you wanted to get involved. Something for everyone
Entertainment
We didn't attend any
Children's Programs
Our kids are 15 and 17 and they weren't interested in any activities
Service and Staff

Ship Quality

Cabin / Stateroom

My husband and I stayed in a balcony room, while our kids had an interior room across from us. I'm very organized person and I was pleased at how I could easily unpack and have room for everything to be neat and tidy. My kids room was smaller of course, but they could easily come over and hang out in our room on the sofa or balcony and we were all comfortable.
Ship tip
Just be prepared for super expensive excursions and be ready to pay or not pay for the extra. We booked one excursion through Norwegian that was fun. We booked one expensive one outside of Norwegian ahead of time that was from a big cruise company And this was exceptional and worth the $800 for four of us. In other stops, we took taxis or walked on our own without problems.
We flew in And out of Barcelona, so we relied on friends of ours that had traveled here to advise us. I used trip advisor, Conde Nast Traveler magazine's best of hotels lists as well when choosing our hotel... It was fabulous. We took a taxi from airport to hotel and had no problem. When leaving the port at end of trip we also took a taxi for flat rate with no problem. We used hop on hop off bus to get around the city to see everything. Architecture was gorgeous. Nice city with nice people who were accommodating to tourists
Nice people. City is dirty with lots of graffiti. However italian residents were helpful. We met a great taxi driver who took us to Sorrento. Thanks to Google translation AP we were fine!! Sorrento was beautiful! Thank you Luigi for helping us!
The grandness of Roman architecture is unbelievable and just magnificent! I had heard that Rome was dirty and had lots of graffiti, however our tour guide told us that the city has been working hard to change This and It is obvious!!! Expect the long lines and tourists but it's understandable during peak season! Too much to see in a day, but one can see the major sites
My daughter and I took a Florence and Tuscany castle and wine tasting tour. Large bus but well organized tour. We paid extra to tour the Galleria Academia to skip the line and see Michaelangelo's David. So worth the extra money. Our tour guide was a native to Florence and gave a fascinating tour. Sadly i left my big camera in the ladies bathroom, left and realized it before leaving the museum a minute later to have someone take it that quickly!! So it's true...be careful! We missed the rest of sites in Florence because we wasted time speaking to everyone in museum about lost camera. Luckily the wine tasting eased my pain!
We originally wanted to skip visiting Cannes, and wanted to visit Monaco instead. If you are brave you can inexpensively to via train down town. If you try to hire a taxi they are expensive. The taxi drivers were laughing at us after we declined the ride. Book thru ship or tour group for excursion if you want to go. We walked our the beautiful town of Cannes instead which is great to see! If it's good enough for Hollywood it is good enough for me! Beautiful shops, restaurants, and buildings...but the yachts are unparalleled to see! This is why it is part of the famed French Riviera!
