Great cruise, great vacation!

We loved our cruise on the Norwegian Cruise Line's ship, the Epic. The ship is huge, but very easily maneuvered. There are plenty of elevators to take you to your destinations. The restaurants are wonderful. Not only does the food look great, it tastes great too. We have been on many cruises and the food on this cruise was superior. Our accommodations were extremely comfortable, with ample space to keep everything neat and nice (couldn't believe the size of our shower---so roomy).  The service was outstanding, as were the ports, excursions and the entertainment. We just had a wonderful time.

Ship Quality
This is a beautiful new ship that is kept in stellar condition
Food and Dining
Every meal we had, whether in a regular dining room, buffet area or special restaurant, was excellent.
Service and Staff
Our cabin steward was wonderful. He anticipated all of our needs. Marjorie in the French restaurant, Le Bistro, is emblematic of the staff on this ship---polite, friendly and competent.
Entertainment
There was entertainment for all tastes, from large shows to small cabaret presentations---all very good.
Children's Programs This is not applicable. We did not travel with children.
Onboard Activities
we did not participate in many activities. We chose to sit on our terrace and read, etc.
Destinations and Excursions
The trips that we took were very good. They were well organized and on time. They took us to interesting places and provided knowledgable guides.
Cabin / Stateroom
We loved our cabin/stateroom. It was roomy and well appointed. The shower was great. I would recommend that the track that gives privacy to the shower, have a second section of track, so that sometimes the shower area could be curtained off from the sink.
Barcelona, Spain Go to see the Basilica of the Segrada Familia. It is magnificent. It is wise to go online and purchase tickets in advance. It's very easy and will save you lots of time.
Naples, Italy
We have been to Naples a couple of times before. We chose the hop on, hop off bus, which is very good.
Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy Ditto, with this port. We stayed in Civitavacchia and did local sight-seeing and cafe sitting.
Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy
Lovely shore excursion to Pisa. We had a very interesting guide.
Cannes, France
Again, the excursion was excellent. The guide was very good and the scenery was astounding.
Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands
Loved Mallorca. The scenery and the shops were terrific.

Tip

Some of the excursions fill up fast, so it pays to decide early about what you want to do.
