Overall, this was a great cruise for our family. We really enjoyed the ship, and the fact that it wasn't crowded. The port times and locations were not ideal, but doable. This was our second Sept. cruise to Alaska, and it meant we could see the Johns Hopkins Glacier, in Glacier Bay, which we enjoyed a lot. Staff and crew are great. We like the food. We weren't super excited about the entertainment, except Choir of Man, which we loved.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Took a little time, but we knew what documents to have available, and it went smoothly.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
We ate breakfast and lunch in the Garden Cafe, and enjoyed our meals there. We ate all of our dinners in Savor, and were very happy with selection, taste, and great staff.
Onboard Activities
4 out of 5
The air was too chilly for the pools and slides, which was a bit disappointing, but not a surprise. Our favorite spot was the Observation Lounge for viewing, reading, and games playing.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
We only managed to get to two shows, and our favorite by far was the Choir of Man. What a great show that is. I wish we could have seen it a second time.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
All ship personnel were friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and quick to be of service. Staff in Savor and our room steward K, were great in every way.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Everything was always spotlessly clean. We LOVED the Observation lounge. The ship was not filled, so even the Garden Cafe and Atrium were not too crowded, which we appreciated.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
It's a handicap room, so a bit bigger than average. We loved the location, and the fact that it was a quiet spot. K, our steward was on the job, and he was excellent. Our only slight dissatisfaction was the noisy buzzer and flashing lights when the phone rang. We asked if that could be shut off, which it couldn't. Instead, Norwegian offered us a free balcony room on the same floor. It was a really nice offer, but we liked being next door to our family, and declined.
Ship tip
Make use of the Observation Lounge. Plan excursions well. Port times are relatively short.
One of our favorite things. We had a beautiful day and spent the morning looking out on the outer deck on Deck Eight. I think it's called the Waterway. A lovely place to be.
