Cruise was basically Ok. Disappointed with lay out of ship, lack of activities during sea days
Embarkation
3 out of 5
Boarding process fast, not booked full
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Buffet and restaurants not crowded. Specialty restaurants nothing special.
Onboard Activities
2 out of 5
Lock of activities, only one type of craft class over 10 days, and that was while ship was in port. Have been on a lot of other ships with a lot more daily activites.
Entertainment
5 out of 5
Casino was fine, usually not crowded, BUT FULL OF SMOKE. Never stayed there too long due to SMOKE.
Children's Programs
3 out of 5
Didn't see any kids onboard
Service and Staff
4 out of 5
Room steward was normal, forgot our ice a couple of times. Buffet staff was great at helping us find salmon. Restaurants Ok but seemed slow being uncrowded.
Ship Quality
2 out of 5
Sometime recently they remodeled the ship REMOVING the SPINNAKER LOUNGE from upper deck forward, which had bee a great place to meet during the day, and socialize in at night. Now Penthouses. The Bliss Lounge, deck 7 rear, supposed to be the main lounge now is a dark dungeon, low ceiling, bad acoustics. Hated it.
Cabin / Stateroom
4 out of 5
Cabin was OK but clearly designed by people who never use them.
Ship tip
Sail on any other Norwegian ship except this one. NO SPINNAKER LOUNGE up high forward to visit. No place to go inside the ship to see where you are going.
Harbour Lights Beach bar favorite beach and place to go to. $5 cab ride from pier. Don't take the ships excursion there, costs a lot more for same thing if you go on your own.
the single biggest mistake Norwegian has done in the 2010's is removing the spinnaker lounge and splitting their ships in half with 1st class (haven) and 2nd class passengers. Nothing exemplifies this more than the Dawn that actually removed the spinnaker lounge as if not even making one in breakaway sized ships wasn't bad enough.
