Went very smooth. As a Latitutdes member, we jumped in the short line and got through registration easily. Had to wait a few minutes before starting embarkation but no problems there, either.

We visited the Aqua, Moderno, Venetian for breakfast, Cagneys, and the newest restaurant Los Lobos. All were very good but we were especially happy with Los Lobos.

We enjoyed being poolside. As the ship wasn't full, there were plenty of lounge chairs this time for everyone. Really liked the lounge chairs that are in the pool! Had a massage in the spa....that was a HUGE waste of money! Massage wasn't that relaxing and there was alot of time she was doing something at the counters and I just laid on the table waiting for her to come back. Save your money and get a massage at the beach! Mandatory 18% gratuity was more than the asking price for a massage at the beach.

Having the casino in the center of the ship is horrible! You have to walk through it...and all the smoking....terrible!!! Wall off the casino and keep it contained!!!!!! Worse part of the entire ship.

We were given the opportunity for an upgrade to a mini suite. We really enjoyed the extra space....BUT.....we will never stay one floor beneath the Garden Cafe again!!!! You hear EVERY noise that comes from the chairs and carts being dragged across the floors!!!!!
Ship tip
We have sailed on the Dawn three times now and have enjoyed the ship each time. When trying to move from one end of the ship to another.....skip the deck the casino is on if walking through a cloud of smoke bothers you. And DON'T stay in a cabin below the Garden Cafe! (Deck 11)
We came into PR two days before the cruise and had a friend from there take us around the island. Was nice to drive through the central mountain range and see other parts of the island. Our stay at the Hyatt Place San Juan was TERRIBLE!!!!!! No AC in our room, though they said there would be, and no windows to open. Horrible service!!!!!!
We did an excursion that took us to an ancestoral homestead which was very nice. The itinerary said we would go to a working pineapple plantation but all we did was pull up next to a row of pineapples to have a look at them. Disappointing. Then we went to a beach and spent a few hours there. We were served BBQ chicken for lunch. The beach was nice.
Our excursion took us to an old cathedral, a small volcano museum and then to a rum distillery. It was nice but not 'fun' by any means. After the excursion, I walked around Fort de France for a hour or so and found the area very dirty and the local people less than friendly. Would not make an effort to return to this island.
Did a beach day excursion in St. Lucia. The beach was alot of fun but the vendors were like VULTURES!!! One after the other, they would come up to you and go on and on and on about buying their things......the NCL supported excursion representative for this trip should have stepped in and helped all of us......but she didn't. ADVISE!!!!======Do not buy anything made from palms, coconuts, shells, etc.....you CAN NOT bring them back onto the ship!!!
No excursion today. Hired a taxi to take us to Cockleshell beach for the day. AMAZING place!!! Beautiful beach and staff at the beach never bothered us once!!! St. Kitts is on our radar to come back again and stay for a week or so to get to know this place better....and Nevis.
