The Cruise was wonderful. We were one of the first (if not the first ship) into St Thomas after the Hurricanes. The staff on this ship was truly amazing.
Norwegian Dawn Cruise Review to Caribbean - Eastern
We have been on many cruises. First time sailing from Boston. And being November, we were a tad nervous of what the seas could be like. We had great weather. Once in the south, weather stayed good. Rained some, but it's still the rainy season, so that is to be expected. Ship was great. Staff was amazing. Would sail on NCL , and on the Dawn again.
Embarkation

One of the smoothest we have every had. However, we did need to wait what we thought was a long time to get to our room. We were on about 12:30, it was between 2:30 & 3 before we could go to our room. But we toured the ship, ate , etc while waiting. So it wasn't that bad
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
Food was good, We did not go to any special restaurants. Food at the Buffets was the "same old, same old" but good. We do not drink, so we cannot rate that.
Onboard Activities

It was a "lively" ship. Lots going on . But they do need to control where the passengers drink ( drinks in the pool/hottubs being spilled) and where they smoked.
Entertainment

Great. They had so many evening shows, that we actually couldn't get to them all.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
The staff was wonderful. As stated earlier, our cruise was one of the first to be going into areas affected by the two hurricanes earlier this fall. They keep our safety as top concern. They were very helpful regarding flights leaving from San Juan when our trip was over . And our Cabin Stewart "RON" was AMAZING!
Ship Quality

We loved this ship that you didnt have to go through the casino to get to places. We were on the EPIC in January 2017, and you had to travel right through there to get to places. We do not smoke. So that bothered us greatly. But was a plus on this ship. They did have spots marked " for smoking", but we found people smoking pretty much where ever they wanted to when they were out on the deck. That needs to be addressed. Both due to smell, and I'd say for safety reasons as well.
It had been a long time since we had been here. So it was like visiting for the first time all over. Yes we did an excursion. tour of the Island , then to a beach where lunch and drinks were provide. It was good for it's value
We did not do a tour here, as we had been there many times before, and chose to have just a relaxing days of walking around the markets then go back to the ship. The people in the markets here though are very "pushy" , so that was a bit "uncomfortable"
We have been to St Kitts before, and loved going back. We did the "Train Ride" Excursion. It was great. Rain hard, but hey, we were on vacation. And being wet was not big deal. Our guide on the train was wonderful .
This port was changed at the last minute to St Thomas. Our Captain felt it was still not ready for visitors after the hurricanes. We did a tour of St Thomas. Our hearts were broken by the damage left behind from the two hurricanes. But the people's spirit were still in tack.
I rate it poor. But it is of no fault to anyone. This poor place is still recovering . I was glad we went back to that port, just so some sort of revenue was going back into this country. They need it.
