Great Time!! by dazelia82

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

The staff was awesome, the food was good, the facilities were nice and clean.  I’d definitely cruise on the Norwegian Breakaway again.  I traveled with my mother and 3 year old son and both had a good time.  There was something for all of us to enjoy.  I especially loved Rock of Ages - Broadway entertainment at sea.

OK Cruise -- nothing spectacular by Goose42749041

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

I thought their ultimate beverage package is a scam.  I got the beverage package email after I booked a mini suite and when I asked them to add it to my cruise, I was told that since this was an "MX" category mini suite (which means I'll take any mini suite that is available) We didn't qualify for the package.  What a crock!  So much for bonus offers.  Also, I'm not sure why it took so long to get to Bermuda and a day less on the return.  An extra day at sea isn't what I want on a Bermuda cruise.

A good time was had by all! by LJSL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

Best part of cruise was specialty dining (Cagney's and LeBistro), and wonderfully attentive staff (room steward, bartenders, etc.).  Needs improvement:  need more bartenders on pool decks, more sun deck area (zip line takes up too much room), have a Customs Agent/s on board to help with bottleneck of getting off the boat, add another pool (very crowded)

The entire cruise was wonderful.  Great food, great entertainment, and a great companion (my wife).  We had a wonderful time.  This ship is as much a destination as is Bermuda!

Beautiful ship, beautifull Island by lasatterly

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

The cabins had plenty of storage space and the bed was very comfortable.  We purchase the week pass to the Thermal Suite and enjoy it very much.

The staff was not as friendly as our past cruises on other NCL ships.

Our first NCL cruise. I wanted to hate ot, but I liked it. by hblackb

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

This was our first NCL Cruise. We have only cruised Disney in the past. But we are from NJ and wanted to cruise out NY with a large family. I really thought I would dislike it because it was not Disney. But I liked it. The Dining is better on Disney, The top Deck with pools and slides are better on the NCL breakaway. The stateroom was even on both Cruise lines. Entertainment, well for kids Disney, for adults I would say even. The manager (Justin) of the Kids club on the breakaway is a complete jerk, although the girls working there were wonderful. It program is a complete disaster, it took 45 min to drop off or pick up every time. Disney wins this hands down. It did love the cruise and would  cruise with NCL again for sure.

Nice relaxing week by adcannon5101

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

Cirque show was amazing. Restaurant good was usually good, but some disappointments. Service was lacking in many areas. Had to wait for drink refills, forgot sides, etc.  Splash Academy Kids Club was awesome! My 9 & 10 year old begged to go back each day, leaving us a lot of time without the responsibility of children! Loved the itinerary...spending 3 days at one location was great, flexible, and less expensive, as we could still go back to the boat to eat. LOVED Bermuda...very clean, friendly, and lots to do.

too many days on the boat, very crowded, long lines , couldn't get in a specialty restaurant by jtcolc

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

We felt it was too many days on the boat and not enough time in bermuda- we had to be back at the boat by 230 the third day which really put a damper on the whole day. the boat was clean, the dining staff very accommodating  but the pool area was much too small and there was a DJ that catered to the younger crowd- by 2 o'clock in the afternoon the pool area was a scene out of spring break for college students in Fla. I truly feel there should be an Adult pool area for us older people that enjoy quiet. My cabin attendant had to be reminded to bring us tea bags and creamer quite often and also when we checked in he overlooked the last occupant leaving her underwear in the closet- this is just sloppy. When we cruised Royal CArribeian years ago our cabin attendant left us towel animals every day on the bed and the cabin was always clean and well appointed. In this respect Royal Caribbean was far superior to this boat. there was also a miscommunication when it came to making reservations for the specialty restaurants. I was told when I called to make a reservation that the only opening was 830 and within 10 seconds it changed to 930 - when we went down we were seated by 830 and there were plenty of empty tables. Also there was not any place to buy a paperback book and the on board library which had books to check out was only open 1 hour a day? So all in all although it was a fairly clean ship and the food and entertainment was good we would not recommended it to others.

Best Norweigan Cruise to Date by kfogleman

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

I have previously taken cruises on the Gem and the Sky and this is by far the best itinerary of the three.  Lots of dining options (both included and extra).  Enough daily activities and shows to keep you from getting bored.  Excellent staff and crew.  Rock of Ages and Cirque Dreams were great shows.  The cons: this ship may be able to sleep 3000 but most of the public areas are not designed to accommodate the large crowds.  Except for events held in the main event center, the rest of the areas are way to small. Even if you get there early you will be standing in the back.  And if you don't want to watch the shows, good luck trying to weave your way through the crowds.

Our 31st Anniversary by joanrod85

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

This was our 2nd time on this Cruise, it was enjoyable even  though it rain on  2 of the 3 days that we were in Bermuda.  Love the Free Style Dinning; your option on whether to dress. Loved not and being told that you needed to wear pants to enter the dinning room; shorts were suffice.  Options are yours to make.

This is a fun ship for families with kids.

Nice cruise if you like crowds by dustiehollon

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

Overall, I did like the cruise. The quality of the NCL was there and I appreciated the quality of service and food. Bermuda was also a very nice place to visit. It was very clean and has a multitude of beautiful beaches and things to do.

My biggest complaint: There is not enough outside resources to support the passengers. There were also major issues with people holding chairs outside as early as 930. The pool was a nightmare, unless you're into overcrowding and people drinking in excess and acting crazy.

I will not cruise on the Breakaway again, or any cruise that is this large. I have cruised on the Jewel and it was excellent - everything I want in a cruise. The smaller cruise was more personal and less crowded.

overall review by Cruiser155

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

everything was outstanding from the time we left to our return. Cabin, dining, entertainment, staff, etc.

Bermuda was everything we expected and the excursions to horse shoe bay and Hamilton were wonderful.

we would certainly consider another cruise on NCL!!!

Not such a great idea...... by officermack

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

Let me start by saying I didn't enjoy it at all . I bought the soda package when I got on the ship, but it was like pulling teeth to get a soda the staff always gave me a hard time if I asked for two sodas. I would ask for two so I didn't have to come back and fourth to the bars where it was crowed and full of drunk people slurring there words and falling all over the place. The food was horrendous not good at all, and I got a dinner package I didn't even use , but once. I gave it away that food was worse, and the service at the specialty restaurants was horrible waited 55mins for my dinner to come out and God forbid I ask for another soda which I paid for.

The best part of the cruise was getting off in NYC.

The boat itself is very nice and clean the state room and housekeeping were great.

The shops on the boat are over priced , the casino stinks of cigarettes so bad you can't even walk through it, forget about going in the pool that was crowed all day long with drunk people sitting around not actually using the pool. Two of the three water slides were shut down with no explanation JUST CLOSED......

I got a list of all negative and a few positives , with that I am not a happy customer and I don't believe I got all my onboard credit that was due to me, but at this point it don't even matter.....

Good cruise, bad food by cassandra9120

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Breakaway / Destination: Bermuda

Favorite part was the spa, the boat was nice and the pool areas were great.  Rooms were nice as well- outside of the a/c being a little glitchy.  Room for improvement:  the coffee was AWFUL and undrinkable.  It can't be that hard to have decent coffee.  It tasted like dirt.  Food overall was not great.  best meal I had was at the burger place.  We had dinner at Ocean Blue (a la carte) and I wasn't impressed.  Cirque de Soleil dinner was disappointing as well.    Drinks were top shelf but were just okay, should have more frozen options.  Middle of the ship smells awful due to smoking in casinos/cigar lounge.
