Review summary

We felt it was too many days on the boat and not enough time in bermuda- we had to be back at the boat by 230 the third day which really put a damper on the whole day. the boat was clean, the dining staff very accommodating  but the pool area was much too small and there was a DJ that catered to the younger crowd- by 2 o'clock in the afternoon the pool area was a scene out of spring break for college students in Fla. I truly feel there should be an Adult pool area for us older people that enjoy quiet. My cabin attendant had to be reminded to bring us tea bags and creamer quite often and also when we checked in he overlooked the last occupant leaving her underwear in the closet- this is just sloppy. When we cruised Royal CArribeian years ago our cabin attendant left us towel animals every day on the bed and the cabin was always clean and well appointed. In this respect Royal Caribbean was far superior to this boat. there was also a miscommunication when it came to making reservations for the specialty restaurants. I was told when I called to make a reservation that the only opening was 830 and within 10 seconds it changed to 930 - when we went down we were seated by 830 and there were plenty of empty tables. Also there was not any place to buy a paperback book and the on board library which had books to check out was only open 1 hour a day? So all in all although it was a fairly clean ship and the food and entertainment was good we would not recommended it to others.

Ship Quality

Ship was clean but we had to walk through the pool area to get to the buffet? The floor was always wet and it was inconvenient. and felt unsafe. We felt the layout of the ship was not easy- it was too scattered and hard to navigate.

Cabin / Stateroom

our attendant had to be reminded to bring us tea bags and creamer- he left underwear from the previous cabin occupants in the closet

Ship tip

Make sure you leave more than a towel on the beach chairs the other passengers did not respect towels as a sign that the chair was reserved Also do not expect quiet and relaxing at the pool area it was like spring break in FLA for college students the DJ played rap all afternoon so bring ear plugs

I loved this ship, but I agree with the sloppy housekeeping as our room was filthy upon checking. Food fromm previous guest in fridge, old coffee in pothe. Pool area was horrible but we found it very nice at H2O, all adults. We cruised before school got out. Pool area has very little sunning space.

Weather is weather, you cannot control it, when I was in San Juan once for a day, took a beach day and when I got there rained all day and paid for it, back to the ship for the day!

I would like to have had more time in Bermuda. The weather was rainy on the Wednesday morning arrival and it rained most of the day, which only gave us 1 day and a half of sunshine. I felt that the cruise was way to short and should have allowed more time especially since the weather wasn't good on the first day and some tours had to be cancelled. 😛

I loved the Breakaway. Was on it in October 2015.

I would recommend this ship to anyone who enjoys being on vacation. Some people are always unhappy. Just be thankful you are able to go.

Went to Bermuda May 22nd this year. I never felt like it was a booze cruise and I don't drink alcohol at all as I take seizure medicine. Had a excellent time and the service was outstanding. I've been on Royal Caribbean 7 times and enjoyed the Breakaway much more all though no cruise is bad as I'm on vacation!

The only way to be on that ship is to be in the Vibe area.

was on breakaway August 2015 --enjoyed it--and yes the pool area was like something out of a spring break movie -guess that the risk you assume when booking when school session is out---all dining & shows had been booked prior to boarding---the only real complaint was finding a lounger by the pool on sea days

Fish Face - His/her complaints would be different. The stewardess was rude, the in flight headphones didn't work right, the people in the next seats were too loud. There's no pleasing people like this. And as for the time spent in Burmuda, I don't know about the rest of you, but I usually look at the itinerary before I book a cruise!

Princess doesn't do bermuda

If you enjoy the company of an older crowd, try Princess cruiselines.
