Never felt welcomed. Used to Disney, all service is 5*. Poor consultants while booking. Average service on board. Overall disappointing. Too big, too many people! Poor management of crowds. Day 4 they are already leaving departing info. Kids were bummed halfway in. Always pushing you to book another cruise before this one is half done.

We just return from the... by adutch0530

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We just return from the Bliss. Overall great service. Read many bad reviews but we had no issues at all. Room was small but good with plenty of storage. Specially restaurants were all fabulous, The Manhattan Room had great dinners. They were a lot of things not included in your cruise like Starbucks, Ice Cream Store, Mini bar in room. Also watch out there is a 10% beverage tax for all drinks consumed in Washington State. Ship was very organized with embarking and debarking from the terminal. We used the Port Valet for our flight home with no issues. Overall a Amazing trip to Alaska.

Just got back from Alaska!... by maxsale

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Just got back from Alaska! What a beautiful ship. Did not do specialty dining and preferred Taste and Savor over the Manhattan Room only because they were more intimate and quiet. Elevators were a bit of a hassle at times but not enough to ruin my vacation. The shows were great! The food was great! I had the most amazing prime rib! Can't wait till next time!

Ship: Norwegian Bliss

I thought this was a amazing ship. The vacation was in forgettable and Alaska was so beautiful. The ship was very well laid out and the service was really good. The food was also good for the most part. The food in the dining room was very good but some of the food at the buffet was inedible. I have taking 3 nil ships and this one was by far my favorite. The only disappointment was that we could not go to see the glacier due to there being lots of icebergs.

NCl Bliss. My last mega... by Headwind

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

NCl Bliss. My last mega cruise. Alaska was fantastic. Shore trips perfection with our excursions. The best 3 things about the Bliss: 1) Was on board in 12 minutes and we were NOT Haven guests. 2.) I had read about horrid ship design ( no center elevator) so I got a spa cabin all the way aft just 1 deck below spa. Easy access - the spa is sublime with a great view. This saved us. Never a wait for Elevator unlike the front of shipped mobbed all the time. 3.) Food was good not great but good. Go carts sold out. Had only 1 spa appt available went straight to book up embarkation. Cabin attendant was the worst we have ever had. Never ice. I asked and asked. Lol they sent champagne but we could never chill it. Bartenders zero personality. Could not get into Hubbard glacier which I hear happens a lot. Cabin was tiny had to walk sideways to get to balcony. Closet was an acrobatic move backwards with a twist. If you have a bad back it will only hurt worse. 6k for this ship! Shame on NCL great ideas and horrid execution.

The Bliss very fun ship.... by 00kauy

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

The Bliss very fun ship. Staff was nice and friendly after reading reviews before we left we was a little worried. Rooms small for new ship and hall ways a lot smaller. Love that you have no set eating times. Buffett was very busy but we only had one hard time finding a seat. Go outside easier to find seating. Loved the Local open 24 hours. Lots of fun stuff going on all the time. Elevator busy at times but not like reviews from other people. We used the stairs a lot but we don’t mind. The observation deck great!! And window views at buffet was so nice. End of cruise getting off long lines and not so easy if taking luggage with you lots walking. Would recommend this ship to anyone clean, fun, big and new. Don’t wait in hour half line to book go carts and laser tag at box office use kiosk but do it right away when getting on ship and figure out times and days ahead time looking at what you have booked already. Laser tag a blast.

Wonderful Alaskan Cruise by klowe0901

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I couldn't ask for anything better for my first cruise. The embarkation to the debarkation was very smooth. I was in a studio cabin which was very well set up for a solo travelers. I enjoyed all the ports of call, plenty to see and do. There were always activities even when not on the ship, there was something to do. There was 2 times where there weren't any available seating in the Garden Cafe but there was other seating outside the main area. The seafood night was a little let down. It was advertised to have crab legs and lobster but there was only crab claws, crayfish, and shrimp. Other than those few things it was a wonderful trip.

Beautiful Norwegian Bliss in Alaska by JPfromOC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Our 2nd cruise with Norwegian and was just as nice as the Escape. We thought the Bliss was wonderful and had zero complaints. Couple of the bartenders weren't very friendly, but hey, we found others that bent over backwards for us.

Great new ship and now the bad by kworterz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Like I said, nice new ship that could very well be set up a lot differently. As other reviews have stated, you can't get a reservation for anything. We had the unlimited beverage which is certainly limited. You can't have a bottle of water or fresh OJ without paying extra, realllllllllly NCL,think about it.All the wine and drinks we want and then $20.00 for water, woooooooooow. Now dinner. We as well paid for 3 nights of dining and got 1 only by skipping Victoria. We went to Cagney's and the food was good but the staff ruined that by trying to rush us out. They were still sell dining pkgs on board when they new they were sold out,LAWSUIT maybe,Theft of course Asked for a refund and you would think I had 3 heads and was told to make reservations earlier, lol We paid for a MINI Suite on the stern and couldn't use it because it was coveredin DIESEL CRAP every morning. They cleaned it up but so much for that nice time in the am for breakfast with my wife. They did say they were sorry every day,STOP IT NCL I will say if you do go and you shouldn't ask for Orest at the Observation Bar or Jose' at Savor and Rowena at Mixx Bar as they were very kind and Wonderful. NEVER EVER WILL WE EVER SEE ANOTHER NCL SHIP AGAIN, EVER,EVER,EVER

Bliss is the only way to experience Alaska!!! by moewinn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I fell in love with Norwegian Cruise Lines when I went on the Breakaway a few years ago. When they announced the Bliss was going to Alaska it took all but 5 minutes for me to decide that I was going to experience Bliss. There are no words that could experience how wonderful my experience was on the Bliss. The best part was the observation lounge. (I wish it was the entire 15th floor). If you didn't get there early it was hard to find a seat. My family and I (32 of us) took turns occupying a section so we always had a place. Embarkation and Debarkation ran smoothly. We didn't encounter any issues. You will need your passport and eDOCs so don't leave home without it. The staff on the Bliss was excellent. My stateroom steward Clifford was accommodating and took the time to learn my name!! If you get him you are sure to have a good cabin experience. I love the "Free at Sea" promotion. It gives me the opportunity to try things that I would otherwise not be able to afford. I got the specialty dining package and the unlimited drink package. I believe that Bliss has 16 bars and lounges. I never went without a drink!!! They didn't mind making the drinks stronger if I requested it. They aimed to please. I love Cagney's Steakhouse. I hate that they got rid of the Tomahawk steak. I was looking forward to eating it. The porterhouse steak was a good substitute. It was cooked to order and tender. Don't judge me, but I flaked out on the shows. My family says they were decent though. Unfortunately, none of them said they were must sees. My BIGGEST issue issue is that the shows, race track, and laser tag reservations sold out on the first day. You could try to go on a waitlist, but its not guaranteed that you will get to experience them. So book AS SOON AS YOU GET ON THE SHIP. I think that they should do the entertainment like Six Flags does. Get in line and wait your turn. It would keep people from being frustrated. Shore Excursions: Put money aside to go on the White Pass Railway in Skagway. It's amazing. I did the $244 tour that included a scenic drive into Yukon. It was well worth the extra money to experience that beauty. I went whale watching in Juneau and YES I saw whales. All the ports had great shore excursions. I recommend that you purchase from Norwegian. We purchased shore excursions in Ketchikan and Victoria when we got off the ship and the experience was not the same as the NCL sanctioned tours. This was my second time cruising to Alaska. I went on Princess in September the first time and had a horrible time. It rained 90% of the time. The best time to experience Alaska is in the first week of July and of course on the BLISS!!!

Norwegian Bliss Adventure June 30 2018 by LoriHowieStern

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall we had an amazing cruise on the Bliss. Our weather was beautiful and warm for Alaska. The scenery, whales, eagles, sea lions was amazing. The ship is beautiful but still young and needs to work out some scheduling glitches but overall we got to do everything on board we were interested in and, eat where we wanted. We did not find the staff in the main dining rooms too warm and friendly but the upgraded meals were nice. Port stays are short and would have loved to see a bit more of the towns. Our excursions were very full and fun but would have just liked an extra hour to explore each port on our own. Unfortunately we did not get to see Dawe's glacier as there were too many icebergs and they said it was unsafe. So if you can do the helicopter ride to the top! We loved the observation lounge. The thermal suite was nice but again didn't get to use it too much because so much was going on. Happy hour prohibition, Jersey boys and Beatlemania were all great shows. We stayed longer in Seattle and got to see so much of this city as well.

This ship might be new,... by weinerjean

Sail date: /
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

This ship might be new, but it is not worth what they charge you for it. If you don't book your "fun times" when you get on the ship you will just miss out. The line to book for stuff is nuts. Elevators are a nightmare. When you get to ports you have to buy a ride into town, which they don't tell you about. But of course you could walk for 45 minutes one way if you like. The men wait staff are much more friendlier than the female. There are people walking around to get you drinks, however they just walk past you like your not there. I feel I should be getting the 17.50 I paid for the service to myself. This will be my last cruise I ever take. If you ask me it's like being in prison. Only certain individuals get "special treatment " from the guards oops I mean wait staff. The food is the same day after day after day. Specialty restaurants are not worth the price you pay for them. Make sure you bring peptobismol with you because that is an item that is not allowed for purchase but trust me you'll need it!!!! Or you'll have to go to medical and pay a 900.00 bill for some. Learn from another man's mistake who didn't listen to his wife.

First Time Cruiser - in THE HAVEN - Felt we were "Nickled & Dimed" by JoanMira

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

If you are staying in the HAVEN just beware that you'll want to actually be IN the HAVEN (not just have access to it.) Elevators are WAY TOO CROWDED and HAVEN members do not have key card access to a special elevator. Many upcharges on the boat so beware (water costs extra...crazy...and they actually have a water package to buy.) HAVEN members do not get priority when re-entering from ports so make sure you don't get on last minute or you'll be waiting with 4000 of your best friends! Cruise mediocre at best.

Great ship. Couldn’t get into specialty restaurants, filled up fast. Go karts full all the time also. Observation lounge full when at sea. Great staff, food in dining rooms fabulous, wish we would have stayed in Juneau longer and gone to different glacier. Very pretty ship and staff top rate.

Good overall, getting on elevators a pain, so crowded and charging for restaurants after the price you pay for the cruise is crazy.

Shiny new bliss in paradise review by lonestarlady

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Bliss staff were mostly friendly and good with the exception of the go-cart workers, they were not working together well. The jersey boys show was totally amazing, havana was very good. Didn’t pay to see prohibition. Bands were all very good in the pubs too. Food was amazing and there was something for all tastes. Room was clean and comfortable. Laundry service for 20 really helped my family as we ran out of cool wear because of the heat wave we experienced during our week. Rooms are so quiet! Ships attention to public health was great!!! Thanks NCL!
