Get a booster shot before you go by heyheythecat

Great: - We purchased Stateroom 4 months prior, received email to upgrade to Balcony Stateroom thru bidding. We put up $500. Upgrade was successful 5 days prior to sail. This is our first time crusing and I'd highly recommend Balcony Stateroom. - Staff are well trained. International group of people, mostly southeast Asians. They work on 10 hours shift daily, 9 months on and 3 months off. You can tell they value this work opportunity. I hope they are compensated well compare to their home country. (At the same time I don't think this work schedule will ever work for any Americans) - Clean. They really try to keep the cruise clean, inside out. Enough staff to constantly wiping down places. - Magnificent views. Every minute on the cruise, the scenary is like taken out of photograph. - Food. The cheapest option - Garden Cafe, has great food. It is not your $10 local buffet, it feels like a 5-star luxury buffet. Tips: Do not bother to go to their complimentary restaurants (Savor, Taste, Manhattan). Food there is just a mix up of Garden Cafe, yet you're paying extra tips. However, their specialty restaurants are great. We went to Teppanyaki and La Gucina. - Activities. Orders of preference: Hottubs, Pools, Waterslides, Lasertag, Go Kart, Ping Pong, Mini Golf. - Shows. SIX was a fun musical, not sure if kids would understand it much. Jersey Bros was cancelled due to covid positive. - Weather. We were lucky as only day 1 and 2 had little drizzle. Rest of days were sunny. YMMV. Not So Great: - GET A BOOSTER SHOT BEFORE YOU EMBARK. No matter how well they try to minimize covid exposure, by day 7 one fourth of people on boat will be coughing. I myself tested positive on day 5 and had to isolate at room.

The Covid Cruise by Lancastergal10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Covid testing at port before embarkation caused major delays. Also a group of over 200 people traveling together had not completed the ArriveCAN app that was needed and they were delaying people at counters trying to download and complete it. This was the worst embarkation experience we have ever had.

Less than exciting by sharonhall2008

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was not my first cruise and not my first time sailing with Norwegian, I expected higher quality food, quality entertainment and a lot of options, I was very disappointed, was not sure if it was the destination, the after covid recovery or just the overall time in each port which was too little, I will not be taking another Alaskan Cruise with Norwegian.

Nothing special! by tmjjs

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This was a "free" cruise from my gambling done on my last Alaskan cruise (which was free from previous cruise, etc.). Got to say the comps on-board were horrible. Last cruise I got everything taken off the bill and had a balance to take my wife shopping with. This cruise I won more money, gambled longer and bet higher, yet was told I only had $48 in comps (vs the $100s last cruise). Maybe they are waiting to give me a Haven Suite for my next free cruise offer :-)

Great Cruise! Lesson Learned: Arrive day early, get to port early, wear masks in public areas, relax, enjoy, and be flexible before during and after!

Bliss Great, Port Time Sucks by lritter09

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Great ship. Time in all ports is too limited, especially in Ketchikan. I am guessing this is due to having to make it round trip from Seattle. I would do a northbound or southbound trip next time to allow more time in each port.

Not as expected by 44444toVegas

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall, the cruise was nice. Our weather was fantastic and everyone said it was not the norm. We had a nice time, but service was lacking. For the price, I expected more. I was told the ship was only at 60% occupancy, but can't confirm. Having to reserve seats for the shows was nonsense. We ate at the upgraded restaurants each night, and they weren't that special.

Amazing Trip! by suegeorge970

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

We've always wanted to go to Alaska and NCL provided the perfect venue to do so. The ship itself was great, as were each of the ports we stopped at along the way. Highly recommend it!

Alaska Cruise that cut short its time in every port by DouglasTBray

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Look for a different cruise to Alaska that gives you time in the ports to explore and avoid any that include Icy Straight Point. We had departure times in the ports of 07:00 in the morning and had to be back the ship by noon which was too early for me while in holidays.

Amazing Alaska Cruise by reneeg0715

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Alaska cruise was absolutely amazing! The views were unforgettable and the cruise was so much fun! I highly recommend bringing a thick rain jacket because when it rains, it rains; although they sell them for like $30-$40 at most ports. Pack layers and different ranges of outfits, sometimes its cold and sometimes its hot and you never really know what the weather is going to be.

Beautiful ship and great service by Akasha78

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Besides the travel headaches and the cold rainy days it was a great experience. Great ship, service, views etc. all were great. Food was mostly great but some nights it was just so so in the main dining room. We skipped a few nights to go the incredible Food Republic, the Local and the buffet. Ship was very clean and beautiful. Embarkation and disembarkation was a breeze.
