Great $hip for Families by learjet369

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Transatlantic

The staff and crew were fantastic. We received special treatment from Mark Maeling, Sr. Food & Beverage Director. Mark listens and he was the reason for our having a great and comfortable adventure. Senior activities are limited. We had a Lecturer Janice Leader that was excellent. If you enjoy learning while on the cruise attend the lectures. The cruise would have been even better if they had two Lectures per day. Food was excellent. We dined in the Specialty restaurants 6 times and enjoyed each visit. We also spent time in the Garden Cafe and the Bar Grille. The Crepes were not as good as what we had on our last MSC cruise.

Somehow we expected more on an inaugural cruise. by frankandjill

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Transatlantic

We expected to be the first inhabitants of our stateroom. After finding a hair ball in the shower and the coffee maker with a used packet, we felt let down. We booked a mini-site. The word ‘suite’ envisions something ostentatious. The cabin was about the same size as that on NCL smaller size ships. The balcony was even smaller, barely allowing two chairs and a small table. The splendid Observation Lounge was turned into a bedroom. Guests were sacked out and snoring on the long lounges.

NCL Bliss Panama Cruise Jan 2023 by shipnurse

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

The staff on NCL were great, as always. Anthony in Brewhouse was the best entertainer for me. JR, Benjamin, Gede, Ernesto, Candel, Jose, and Ida were all wonderful bartenders. Shannon at CruiseNext was the absolute best. She really helped with checking ALL the cruises I have booked for discounts, increased points, etc.

Bucket list cruise didn't disappoint by Voodoo59

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

This was our 40th Anniversary cruise and a bucket lister for the canal. It was also our first cruise with Norwegian. Overall, this cruise was outstanding. The ship, the food and especially the entertainment exceeded our expectations. Despite the fact that we didn't get to go to Costa Rica or Nicaragua (original itinerary) it was still a great cruise. Our previous cruise on the Holland Statendam was a complete disaster so we were leery. No problems here and a great experience!

The PROS and CONS of the Norwegian Bliss by wizard74fl

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Review for Norwegian Bliss 15 day Panama Canal cruise (January 7th-22nd) Cabin #14403 PROS: ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Nice clean modern ship! Excellent food in the Garden Cafe buffet, expecially the vegetables, eggplant, salads, desserts (fruit cake) and Indian section. Observation Deck (deck #15) is nice (its quiet with lots of chairs and snacks). Country music band (Chatahochees) in the barbeque restaurant (Q) dekc #6, played great music for dancing and the wood dance floor there is clean and large enough for country two-step. Ballroom hour (every day) in the Atrium deck #6, (nice wood dance floor) from 6-7PM with DJ Luis (who takes requests). DJ Luis did a nice job of playing a good mix of waltz, tango, foxtrot, swing, cha cha, salsa, hustle, etc... Comedians (Dylan Mandlsohn, Allison, Johnny Cardinale) Good Magician (Greg Gleason) also did an improve memory workshop. Live (Duo Estrella) and DJ (Mike Blocker) Latin music in the Sugracane Lounge on deck #8 with a small but nice wood dance floor. Good shower water pressure in stateroom with good temperature controls. Four ping pong tables on the ship in a good location so you can play anytime. Good choice of free in-room TV and movies. Good shows (Jersey Boys and Live! The Beatles). Nice clean wood dance floors in the Q, Atrium and Sugarcane lounge. Best ports (Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucus Mexico). CONS: ----------------------------------------------------------------------- Not enough closet space in stateroom. No drawers in stateroom (only cubbies). Not much room to walk on outdoor deck #16 when all the deck chairs are put out. Must walk before 9AM to avoid the additional deck chairs (tripping hazard) or walk on outside deck #8 instead. The Go Cart track is a waste of space. I recommend that it be removed and replaced with more space for walking, sunning and/or some pickle-ball courts. The gym is small. The free weights are good but the exercise machines are old and difficult to use. Warning! The pood deck is wet and slippery at night in front of the stage where they play dance music. This is a safety hazard! Many of the seat cushions in the Garden Cafe Buffet are filthy dirty. I often put a cloth napkin on the seat before sitting down. In our stateroom (14403), there is the sound of water running through pipes at all hours of the night (2AM, 5AM, etc...). Makes it hard to sleep. Don't book this room! The ship was supposed to stop in Costa Rica but for some reason this stop was cancelled and replaced with a port stop in Acapulco Mexico. Acapulco Mexico looks great from the ship while in port, but I would not recommend getting off the ship as there are machine gun wielding military troops everywhere on the street and also running around in military vehicles with machine guns mounted on top.

Great Ship Fantastic Crew by Huffdaddi

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

First time through the Panama Canal and first time onboard NCL. Overall a wonderful and relaxing experience. The main shows, SIX, The Jersey Boys and Live! The Beatles were the best we have ever seen onboard a cruise. We recommend this NCL cruise to everyone!

Not So Blissfull, Bliss by loriesusan

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First time and most likely the last to the Caribbean at New Years. It was a fun New Years but they could have passed out NYE party favours and had party snacks and comfort food throughout evening. THERE WERE TOO MANY PEOPLE and KIDS on this cruise. I heard there were more than there should have been onboard. Travel on the ship, in my first time cruiser opinion, was ROUGH WATERS. Our group's more sensitive cruisers were feeling sick many times. Not sure what can be done about this one. We couldn't book the activities we were attracted to initially because they booked up within the first day. That is unfortunate but maybe check who booked and how many multiple bookings occurred. Public Bathrooms receive a 4/10 from me. Do better NCL. Elevators were not efficient. Spa is another push to get more money. After a 100 minute massage I got a sales pitch to purchase more items. Just no. Don't do this. We choose this service to experience relaxation or release. We don't need your cheesy sales pitch at the end and dismiss the girls trying to entice you into the spa.

Beautiful ship for Panama Canal by Woobiescoobie

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Beautiful ship, excellent service all around. Definitely try the specialty dining. On a long cruise the drink package is a very good idea if you enjoy the bars. The shows in the theater were very well done! We would sail on Bliss again.

15 day Panama Canal cruise by HappySkippers

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

The Panama Canal cruise was a bucket list cruise for us. The Norwegian Bliss is a beautiful ship to experience all of the beauty and wonder of the area. If you can afford to stay in the Haven the price is well worth it.

Amazing by Mrisp2773

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

This was my first time on a cruise so in short NCL without a doubt has earned my future business. I am not much on jumping around from companies I deal with so probably will not try another and iam am glad it was NCL. During this cruise a talked to lots of people with amazing cruise stories, but they all ranked this one as top notch!

A Blissful Cruise by SactoCal

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

We absolutely loved our cruise! The ship is spectacular, and once we got a lay of the land, we loved the layout. The Broadway style shows Six and Jersey Boys were magnificent. The food was outstanding - the Garden Cafe and Ocean Blue were our favorites. Our meal and service at Ocean Blue was some of the best we’ve ever had anywhere (on land or on a cruise). Our cabin attendant was good and our cabin was always cleaned very well. We loved the cruise director staff! The cruise director staff was all so funny and energetic and there were a lot of great activities to choose from. Our 17-year-old spent every day and night (voluntarily) at the Entourage teen club and loved it. We never felt overly crowded anywhere except on embarkation day and peak buffet times. Our only small nitpicks were: the service in the main dining room was slow a couple nights, at times the staff in general seemed a little less than enthusiastic, the adult pool was sometimes freezing cold, and we wished there was more variety in the main gift shop. But these were very, very small issues compared to our fabulous experience overall.
