Wonderful Alaska cruise by ashbac29

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Great cruise. Food options, entertainment, bars, service - everything was above or at par with expectations. However, I'd recommend a slightly longer cruise that gives more time at the port to allow for more than one activity at each location.

Alaskan NCL Cruise by Dc371240

Just mediocre ports. Ship overcrowded and hard to find places to sit onboard when at sea.

Beautiful Alaskan cruise by elaine30706988

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

The staff was very kind and friendly The wi fi was spotty in the ocean. I wish we could have had a better way to call our family on the ship.

Dissappointing by john21086136

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Overall, I enjoyed going to Alaska and doing some excursion. I was disappointment that I saw no galcier that I thought would be part of the sailing experience. Unfortunately I would not recommend Norwegian for future sailors or for that of myself. There were many people both new to NCL and previous NCL cruisers who have echoed the same sentiment. In fact one person who has previously cruised with NCL 10 times told me that this was the worst experience they had with NCL.

Did not meet my expectations!! by HopeIB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Alaska was beautiful, but I wish we selected another cruise line!! There was always a line to get support at guest relations, they tried charging for everything! The reservation system was horrible to do or see any onboard activities. The drinks were great!!

Was ok by bdavenport

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

In all a great experience. The Buffett was awful for temps, food poisoning just waiting to happen. My entire party of 7 got sick. But around almost 5,000 people the odds were high. The ports need to be rethought. Too short of time in ports, long lines to take busses and not enough busses. Looking at a similar carnival cruise and the amount of time in port was significantly longer. Not enough seating in buffet and main dining rooms were booked. Large ship but needs more dining options.

Disappointing by heidivail

The Sitka tour to the raptor center, the bears, and catermaran to see otters was Ok. The bird center was small. A few birds in cages..though they are doing good things for the injured birds. We did see two Rafts of otters way off in a distance. The bears are enclosed in a large concrete structure. There certainly was lots of stuff to purchase in both places and on the catamaran. The whale watching tour in Juneau was fantastic!!! Saw a double breach! And many other whales. Great photo ops. The highlight of the trip for me. The icy straight is not really anything but a tiny cruise built tourist stop. You have to take a tram to a tiny spot to shop, then a shuttle to another tiny town to shop. The zip line was $250 each but not available when we arrived. There were kayaks to paddle around a small bay but they too were not available. The ropes course for the kids was closed. The restaurant offering crab bloody Mary’s was open. $51 for two drinks. So were all the shops. Plenty of places to spend money.

Great ship, great buffet. Be aware of small & big charges onboard. by TSKimm

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

For Alaska, it needs a better itinerary; more hours in cities so we can explore more. Too much times were spent on the cruise while there were thousands of people with lots of traffic in the elevators. Most of all, any medication we can get from the shelves at CVS, Walgreens and etc, needs to be available either in the markets for customers to purchase or for free as a First Aid Kit. I believe, the First Aid Kit is an essential item on the cruise like this. Either way, customers DO NOT need to pay over a hundred dollars($119.00) just to get the Tylenol. Customer also don't need a lecture from the front desk as if she knows my body and my condition better than I know myself. It was unprofessional with too much sales pitch.

Poor vegetarian food, don't expect to see much in any port unless you book tours, lots of walking onboard.

I wanted more seafood by DebWhip

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss

Overall the cruise was amazing! I'm glad we planned excursions at each port in Alaska and I'd definitely go again! Just don't expect awesome food at the buffets or complimentary restaurants. Also, don't go to the complimentary restaurants if you're already hungry. The wait was around an hour for each meal.
