Review summary

For Alaska, it needs a better itinerary; more hours in cities so we can explore more. Too much times were spent on the cruise while there were thousands of people with lots of traffic in the elevators. Most of all, any medication we can get from the shelves at CVS, Walgreens and etc, needs to be available either in the markets for customers to purchase or for free as a First Aid Kit. I believe, the First Aid Kit is an essential item on the cruise like this. Either way, customers DO NOT need to pay over a hundred dollars($119.00) just to get the Tylenol. Customer also don't need a lecture from the front desk as if she knows my body and my condition better than I know myself. It was unprofessional with too much sales pitch.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Buffet was the best. Other complimentary restaurants were ok. It was really good one day but the rest of the days, the quality of food was average. The service needs to be improved.

Onboard Activities

3 out of 5
We liked fitness center. We had fun playing Ping Pong. Pools and hot tubs were too crowded.

Entertainment

Didn't attend. Daily activity on the 6th floor were too loud since there are Guest Service, Internet Cafe, and other services I have been lining up. I was not able to communicate with the service center because it was too loud.

Service and Staff

2 out of 5
There were a few who were professional and friendly. However, some people serving food or working at the Guest service need better training on customer service. Especially, the medical center was talking like a broken record as well as two people from the guest service without showing any interest to solve my issue.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Clean and well maintained since it's a newer ship. We love the Observation lounge.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
We loved our room in terms of comfort, size and cleanliness. The ONLY downfall is we were not able to hear what the Captain says since there's no speaker in our room. Unless we open the door to hear from the hallway, we couldn't hear well enough.

Ship tip

Make sure to pack your medication(e.g. Advil, Tylenol, etc) since they will charge you $119.00 by mandating you to get a consultation from the doctor.

We did the City Tour by bus. It was interesting. We loved the bear watching.

Juneau, Alaska

Time was too short in this city. We did "Special Wale Watching" and it wasn't too impressive at all. The first site of wale my husband spotted was the best view. There needs to be more time allowed to stay in the city, so people can explore more in Juneau.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

3 out of 5
It was beautiful but at the same time, disappointing because we didn't get to see much at all.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Nice little town. We didn't do any excursion but we went out to walk on the beach.

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

Again, too short in the city. We did hiking and was okay.

Disembarkation

Confusing information: two different information from the guest service and the cleaning person to empty the cabin. Because of that, we had to rush to finish packing within 15min. The rest of the process was smooth..
