We loved the freestyle dining. If we did it again, we would never need to upgrade our dining package! Besides getting sick with upper respiratory issues and a little sea sick, the cruise was nice.

Review summary

It was worth what we paid for, but we were also glad that the ship had a hospital on board. They treated us well. Though it was not a super high class trip, it was a nice cruise in all.

Embarkation

Slightly confusing where to be dropped off.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Loved the main dining rooms! I wish the Manhattan was open more hours. We enjoyed the Taste and Savor as well. We were not impressed with Cagney's, but were with the seafood restaurant. The buffet was a good back-up plan.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Too cold for pools. The racing cars were a nice bonus. I am glad for the vitamin infusion IV.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
We were not impressed with 18+ venues.

Children's Programs

3 out of 5
no children with us.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
They were friendly and kind.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
The ship was very clean and kept repaired. The chandelier in the center was lovely, but there was no real grandeur other than that.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Very clean and good size, but the beds were not comfortable.

Ship tip

Do get the balcony cabin and if you are on a tight budget, you do not need to pay extra for the upgraded restaurants. The ones they have included are more than adequate.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

Loved the godola. Pay the extra. It is worth it, and ride it a few times!

The Ducks were Okay, but left a lot to be desired.
