Review summary

I enjoyed the cruise. I like NCL style of dining and the number of restaurants to choose from when they are open. Alaska is beautiful and worthy of many trips to enjoy. The biggest regret is in not doing more research on how long you are in port. This itinerary has very short port stays 3-6 hours max. I would find a ship the has longer stays in port.

Embarkation

We stayed at the Marriott across from pier 66. Nice hotel easy to 100 yard walk to the embarkation

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
I generally like the food on NCL. Just found on this cruise that it was limited. Limited in variety and limited in when it was available. The house of 10 am to 11:30. And 2:30 to 4:30 very limited offerings. Actually impossible at times.

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Lots to do on this ship and the cruise director was good.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Jersey boys and Icons shows were good.

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
Sad to say the ships team were so busy and I felt under staffed they didn’t seem to have time to stop and chat so nobody really stood out to as.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean

Cabin / Stateroom

1 out of 5
I like the cabin design with the couch next to the sliding door. Appreciate the ability to get a coffee make in your cabin on NCL.

Ship tip

Be prepared for over 4000 people onboard. It’s a lot and at times can be crowded around the elevators

Ports of call

Seattle, Washington

Yes you will see homeless people and encampments. Overall a normal site these days in cities. pike place marking and the space needle ares are a must see.

Sitka, Alaska

Great little town. You have to try the Russian dumplings. There the best.

Juneau, Alaska

Glacier day! Do the helicopter trip! Worth the money it doesn’t disappoint.

CRUISE ENDICOTT ARM & DAWES GLACIER

5 out of 5
The Capetian went out of his way in spinning the ship to ensure everyone got a great view. This was my favorite time on the ship.

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

5 out of 5
You have to do the red gondola. The views from the top were amazing

KETCHIKAN (WARD COVE), ALASKA

4 out of 5
Typical cruise port loved the lumberjack show.

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
3 hours wasted but you have to stop in a foreign port so it is what it is.

Disembarkation

Was not prepare for the lack of organization on NCLs part. Stood in line for over an hour trying to get off the ship didn’t not have enough buses to transport people to the airport so had to wait. Some people missed flights because of it. If your flights before 2 pm good luck.
