Review summary

The Bliss is beautiful! We love all the places where one can sit and relax and just enjoy the sea! The staff are friendly and work so hard. The food was amazing. We bought cruise next deposits and I can’t wait to be back on the Bliss!

Embarkation

Unfortunately the IT problems onboard caused a delay with boarding but I thought the staff handled it well. First time it’s ever happened.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Our first night in Manhattan wasn’t great but all our other meals were great.

Le Bistro

5 out of 5

This is our favourite specialty restaurant on the NCL ships, the food is always excellent.

Savor Restaurant - Main Dining Room

5 out of 5

Our favourite restaurant by far. This is where we had most of our complimentary meals. Staff were always so friendly and attentive.

Ocean Blue

5 out of 5

This was our first time and we were very satisfied with our service and the quality of food.

The Cavern Club

5 out of 5

Loved the Beatles show in here. Service good from the bar.

Garden Café

5 out of 5

Very busy at times but we always found seats and everything we had to eat was great. Try the Indian and Asian counters! So delicious!

Cagney's Steakhouse

5 out of 5

We had an excellent meal and service.

The Observation Lounge

4 out of 5

Lovely views, good food and snacks. Pity people are allowed to sleep on the sofas.

The Manhattan Room - Main Dining Room

3 out of 5

Had dinner here on our first night, slow service and food very average so didn’t return.

The Local Bar & Grill

5 out of 5

Only had two meals here but they were good.

Sugarcane Mojito Bar

5 out of 5

Great place for a cocktail and live music!

Atrium Bar

5 out of 5

A busy bar but always gives good service.

Onboard Activities

We didn’t use any but I’m sure the pools and slides are lovely in warmer weather.

Tradewinds Tax-and-Duty-Free Shops

5 out of 5

Good service, decent selection of goods.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The shows were very professional! The Beatles are excellent and they were my favourite. We also loved the Jersey boys!

Bliss Theater

5 out of 5

The shows are absolutely great! We loved the Beatles and Jersey Boys. Six not our favourite but we appreciate their talent and we know a lot of people enjoyed it.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
We don’t have any complaints at all. Very friendly staff throughout and our cabin steward Brian was great.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Everything was spotless. We love the layout. Would be nice to use the outdoor areas in warmer weather. We missed not having an indoor heated pool.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Excellent position. Huge balcony. Central to most things. No noise! Close to aft elevators.

Ship tip

Ask your cabin steward for a coffee machine, they replenish amenities daily and it’s lovely to have coffee first thing in the morning.

Ports of call

Icy Strait Point (Hoonah), Alaska

4 out of 5
Such a pity it rained so couldn’t really enjoy the gondola but we saw whales as we walked back to the ship so all wasn’t lost!

Victoria, British Columbia

3 out of 5
Not really much to do in such a short period. Fortunately we had spent two days before the cruise in Victoria and saw the place and famous gardens in daylight. Such a shame that the ship arrives so late but we understand the rules about having to visit a foreign port.

Sitka, Alaska

5 out of 5
We had gorgeous weather and walked to the totem pole area and Raptor Sanctuary. A lovely place to visit. We had reindeer Hot Dogs, very tasty!

Seattle, Washington

5 out of 5
Lots to see and do. We arrived 3 nights before the cruise. Nice vibe. Visited Bainbridge Island by ferry, went up Space Needle, visited Chihuly Glass exhibit ( magnificent!!) and Museum of Pop Culture

Juneau, Alaska

5 out of 5
Mendenhall Glacier was beautiful. We walked to Nugget Falls too. We did a back to back cruise so the following week visited the town and had a jolly time in the Red Dog Saloon.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
NCL runs this whole process like clockwork. No complaints.
