Review summary

Ive been to AK a few times. If you have never been go on Princess or Holland America. On those cruise lines you can go into town and do an excursion with better docks. On NCL you must choose between one or the other. Since we have been before and like NCL ships we dont mind.

Embarkation

Very easy. We have priority boarding so everything was quick and easy. We knew it was supposed to rain in Seattle that day so we to the ship early. However, after we got on the ship the computers were down and boarding had stopped. The folks who were behind us, alot of them were standing outside in the rain for a few hours til the computers were back up.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
The usual for cruise ships. Most food was fair to pretty good. Specialty restaurants were of course better.

Onboard Activities

Love the music all around the ship. Always fun stuff going on in the atrium, day and night. I will say that this ship was completely sold out so to see the shows in the theater or comedy club you definitely needed to get in line early if you wanted good seats ot seats together. The Beatles experience was the best! The comedy/ magic show was great. Thermal spa was great but some days was so packed you couldnt get a seat to put your stuff on. We bought the weekly pass but the days they sold additional day passes it was too overcrowded.

Ship tip

On a full ship bring your patience. Use the stairs! So many people have never learned elevator ettiquette. On day 2 my motto was there is always another elevator. That really helped me. Alot of times the 3rd or 4th elevator to show up were empty. I cant believe people will shove themselves into a already full elevator. No thanks, you want on, then I'm getting off and taking the next one.

We did self assist and used the buses through NCL to get to the airport. From the time we left the room we were at the airport in one hour.
