Review summary

Nice ship, dated on board activities and attractions.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
The organization of the embarkation was exceptional. Traveling with our Special Needs Son who was treated with a lot of dignity and respect which was awesome. Our original cruise was cancelled last year due to the war in Ukraine, at that time we had specified a room with a veranda and somehow in the rebooking we were rebooked into a sea view room on level 1 which was disappointing.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Generally very good food overall, staff was fantastic. Sometimes a bit repetitive, had very few gluten free options but they were identified on the menu, they could list the ingredients however as my wife is sensitive to dairy.

Onboard Activities

1 out of 5
The ship was extremely well maintained, however the offerings were tailored towards the elderly in comparison to other offerings out in the cruising market. They had a couple shuffleboard courts and a basketball court. Other ships just seem much more exciting for sure with miniature golf, slides etc. There were 2 movie nights with films that seemed somewhat depressing. The big mega screen on deck seemed to be wasted. Other ships I have been on have had cooking, massage, and other fun classes. To their plus side they had Tai Chi on deck in the mornings The last time I traveled on Holland was 30 some years ago and pretty much the same. Television had very limited channels and we could not cast our own content on to the television which seems to be the new standard.

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Really didn't see any, the times seemed to conflict with dining times.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Cleanliness was great, ship maintenance seemed top notch. Design as I said was targeted towards the elderly market

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
Not what we originally booked previously prior to the cancellation as our original trip was cancelled due to the war in Ukraine. The cabin steward was exceptional however.

Ship tip

If you're looking for a ship targeted towards the 70 plus age market this is your ship, if you're looking for a more modern ship with activities and activities geared towards people under 70 keep looking.
