Fantastic Adventure by sharonchism6969

Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I had such a wonderful time on this cruise. My floor leader Karen was there for my every need. Marlon was the perfect host in the Star lounge. I was allowed to participate in the karaoke contest and was in the finals. The Cosmopolitan Club was off the chain. The DJ kept the beats going and acknowledged my birthday several times during my booty shaking!!! i had a b;last on my first cruise and will be traveling again with Royal Carribean.

Excellent trip!  I was so nervous it being my first cruise but now...I'm wondering what took me so long to do this.  I absolutely loved the staff on board, they catered to our every need..the ship was beyond beautiful.  I will definitely cruise Royal Caribbean again.

Nice ship, good ports by mlantz

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Navigator is a well designed ship which was surprisingly stable throughout the cruise (compared to other ships we have sailed). Food was good though some preparations were puzzling (serving stuffed butterfly shrimp still in the shell). Activities/shows were good. We really liked the Ice show. For the most part the staff was great.

Room for improvement:

1) Outside of the buffet, there are no drink stations to get tea, coffee, juice (except for the one location on deck 5 forward, not handy for when your at the pool.)

2) They had no harnesses for full sized adults to use the Rock Climbing wall.

3) There were no porters available to help you with luggage at the Galveston terminal when we boarded. We have used this port 4 times before and never had an issue. Not sure what happened but be prepared to haul your own bags.

Navigator review by kfuzzywuzzy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was updated lately but there still are noticeable areas not updated-chairs in lounges, sofas in cabins, paint around the ship and most important ventilation from casino smoke!  Would notice in a lot of places-non bar lounges, close to casino and art auction area.  Food was not as good this time. Usually only one cooked vegetable offered in bufftet. In Café Promenade, on other cruises there were new offerings daily-sandwiches, desserts- but the same items were there everyday. Overall, it was a good cruise and we enjoyed being on this ship as it was a new one for us for on RCCL.

Had the Best Time Ever by mphipps2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything about our cruise was wonderful.  The ship was so nice, the accommodations were immaculate, the food and service were amazing. The bartenders in the R-Bar were so entertaining and ports were wonderful for shopping.  We didn't do any of the shore excursions.  We went in to all the ports to shop and have lunch.  We brought home several nice mementos and just enjoyed being onboard the ship.  I would highly recommend this cruise to everyone.

Good Cruise, Family Fun and Will Likely Choose Royal Caribbean Again by lkim415

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall, this was a good cruise with great food and service aboard a beautiful ship. The only criticism I have is the entertainment which I felt there should be more shows, e.g. dancing or theater production. Aside from that, this was a pleasant experience and I will likely recommend this cruise.

very dissappointed by loan77505

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It's our first time with Royal Caribbean.  The stateroom bathroom was horrible with old stain in the vanity sink and toilet bowl.  Coffee mugs were stained and smelled.  Windjammer closed at 9 pm.  Ice cream was melted.  The staffs were not friendly.  I've been with Carnival and Norwegian before and was very pleased.  I was told that Royal Caribbean is a bit higher than the others but wasn't.  Our group vowed not to go to Royal Caribbean anymore.  Disembarkment was unorganized.  We've been with for all of our cruises, but this last time wasn't pleasant either.  We were assigned seat for the dining with other family instead of ours.

Review Of Trip by grannymmcy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was quite disappointed with the quality of this cruise.  The food in the formal dining room was on several occasions tolerable at best.  There were only two nights that our group could honestly say we enjoyed our dinners.  The Wind Jammer was better as a whole.  Grace, our server during the trip, was however and exceptional find.  Angella who maintained our room was wonderful, her service excellent unlike many of the customer service people on this cruise.

We went to Bingo to find both the man in charge and the female caller to be rude and arrogant to the customers.

This was my fifth cruise but my first with Royal Caribbean.  I was initially excited but will probably not book with you line again.

Navigator of the Seas by sjackson

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was a nice boat and a good cruise.  The staff and the food were the highlights of the trip and i would recommend this cruise to other people.

I had two issues with the first being the lack of time in each port - hard to enjoy/complete the excursions without rushing.

The second was the smoking section on the ship could be moved to a better location so that everyone doesn't have to participate in the smoking and the casino was like walking into a fog so not usable except early in the day.

Highly satisfied by hangduong

I went on the Royal Carribean's, Navigator of the Seas. The ship was huge comparing to the other Carnival ships trailing behind us. Everyday was a new activity for the family. I knew i could trust the staff because if their friendly appearences and lively personalities. My kids had a great time when in the ship's arcade or when doing the excursions outside of the ship. I was very satisfied with my stay and i will deffinetly be returning and bringing more family members along with me.

Wonderful experience all around by anng42

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group

This was an amazing experience and a great way to travel for our family reunion (17 people.)  There was something to do for all ages and the ship was 5 star between the gorgeous dining room, Promenade, FloRider, spa, etc.  The activities were very fun and frequent and the ports of call were fantastic.  We can't wait to cruise again.

Not really a family ship, on ship communication expensive by Cruizer54321

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The Teen programs were somewhat limited. Although our older teen liked it, it was more of a function of hanging out with other teens than actually "doing stuff". Similar with our other younger teen, but she liked it less.

On the other hand, the Toddler program was terrible.  The 3-5 year old program had some strange restrictions / limitations:  the children couldn't bring in food or drink, the children must be able to use the toilet 100% themselves (no help whatsoever), there was no kiddie pool, and the ratio was something like15 to 1. We basically couldn't leave our 3 year old for more than 1 hour!

On the on communication requires you to buy an expensive per phone internet data plan and / or "Roam" with your carrier (very expensive).  Other ships have cordless phones or inexpensive apps that can be used.   This should be addressed.

This being our first cruise was kind of nervous because of all the unknowns.  But I can say it was on of the most relaxing / entertaining things I done so far. We are already planing for the next one.

Summer cruise on Navigator great for adults and teens. Not so much for little kids by sawolfman1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We did a 7 day Navigator of Seas out of Galveston August 2-9. Stopped in Cozumel, Belize and Honduras. My older kids, 11 and 15 had a blast. The teen program allowed my 11 year old to "bump up" to the 12-14 program and because of that, she was able to have a really great experience. For my 3 year old, however, it was not a good experience. This is a ship that, in my opinion and in the opinion of many others we met on the cruise, merely accommodates small children but really does little to nothing to make their experience fun. My little one was in the 3-5 year old room. Yes. Just a room. They never leave it during their time in kids club. Kids club is an overstatement. It's daycare at its worst. There is a 15 to 1 ratio of staff to kids. They only have 3 hour sessions. 9-12. 2-5. And some evening time. The kids aren't allowed any snacks or drinks while they are there other than a trip to the water fountain, which my petite daughter couldn't reach. And no stool was provided. But here's the worst part. The royal Caribbean policy is that they will not assist your child in any way using the potty. Not at all. My daughter is tiny and couldn't reach the potty or coordinate pulling down her close and climbing up alone. Nor is she able to wipe by herself yet. Let's not even start with the hygiene issues. I was appalled. And so was she. We were only able to use the kids club for under an hour at a time because of this so I got very little down time on the vacation. So basically, don't plan on your young child being able to stay in child care there very long. Also, the pools aren't kid friendly other than one tiny shallow triangle area that is fenced off as a baby area. But be aware, adults hog the small area so there isn't room anyway for your kid to splash. And my daughter is potty trained so this wasn't an issue for us, but be advised that younger babies on diapers aren't allowed in any pool on the ship. Not even this little shallow area. We saw families with babies get kicked out of the baby splash area. Just saying. It's just not a good ship for kids under 6. It was also very crowded. Long waits for elevators. Several inoperative. The gym closes at 10pm so I wasn't even able to take advantage of the hours after my littlest was asleep to work out. It's also almost impossible to enjoy any nightlife without keeping your young child up late. A 530 dinner seating wasn't finished until 7. But the show times were usually 630 and 830. And the waiters weren't able to turn dinner around in an hour to make the early show. If we stayed for part of the 830, then bedtime was pushed until close to 930/10 for my daughter who is usually asleep by 8 at home. We had issues with ship maintenance too. Our water pressure was off. Once the cold water shut off entirely while my little one and I were showering. We spent 45 minutes all soapy after getting scalded waiting for it to be fixed. Oh. That reminds me. No bathtubs. Just showers. Ok for a 3 year old but not sure what people did with babies. There were also issues with shore excursions. Belize especially. We spent hours in a hot bus and saw very little. We're practically starved instead of a real lunch and were pretty miserable on an expensive misrepresented excursion. Cozumel was ok but way more crowded on our dolphin encounter than in years past. Had a very assembly line feel and spent a lot of time baking in the sun waiting in hot long lines. Honduras was the only great day. We did the private island. Overall not a trip I recommend unless you are traveling without small kids and have a lot of patience.

Great time by lstoss

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

We had a great time on the cruise. Self serve yogurt is the best ever. We has fantastic waiters that spoiled us every night. We did the My Time dining and it worked well. In Cancun we went to Playa Mia and it was ok.  Probably wouldn't go back.  Didn't like buffet lunch at all.  Beach massage was awesome though.  In Belize we took the river cruise to the ancient ruins - great trip. In Routan we zip lined  didn't do the extreme because I'm afraid of heights but after I know I could have handled it.

40th Birthday Cruise by foxy40

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my first cruise and it exceeded all of my expectations.  Everything was clean and the ship was beautiful.  I did not like that the evening activities starting right before my 8pm dinner time. I loved the variety of events offered each day.  The bar staff was not as friendly when they noticed you were not planning to tip in addition to the 18%.  Otherwise, it was a great experience.

Good Experience but.... by nickthepsouvanh

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I enjoyed the cruise and the staff were fantastic.  The price is moderately high than other cruises that I have been on.  For the price that I paid for family of 6, we were hoping some of the cost could have been included.  Such as bottle water and soft drink.  Only casual dinning availability is at one place.  That only place closes at 9 pm.  There were no pizza bar that my kids could eat after 9 pm.  Little disappointed.

Royal Caribbean Navigator Caribbean Cruise by vickybark

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We were extremely pleased with the activities offered on this ship.  We had two teen-age boys with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the rock wall and surf rider.  However, they were hoping to play some basketball and found the court always occupied with adults.  The only negative we really had was the food choices and quality of the food.  There should be more in the way of snack items available 24 hours...especially pizza, nachos, hamburgers, hotdogs and other kid food. The ship itself was beautiful, clean and enjoyable.  We would have liked more time in the ports.  Could there possibly be a cruise that stays two days in each port instead of one? The female comedian was terrible but other shows were good.

Fantastic Cruise! by nefferterie7

From the moment we set foot on the ship, the staff instantly began taking care of us. Our head waiter Chalton spoiled us every night at dinner. Chalton called us by name and learned our preferences right away. My family had a fantastic cruise,  we can't wait to take our next Royal Caribbean cruise!

Excellent way to get away from everything. by arbtravel

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Went on the cruise with my wife an 2 kids. Everyone really enjoyed being able to get away from phones and the internet. There was a lot to do on the ship, just be aware the ice skating rink was not always open and it shared with the ice show. When it is open only 50 skaters are allowed. As for the food it was much better than Carnival's buffet (except for Guy's bugers).
