Great crew ! by venturet00

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just returned from the 8 day Eastern Caribean cruise.  Our cabin was very nice and clean and our cabin steward was great. The dinner in the dining room was hit and miss but we absolutely loved our dining staff. The ship has been refurbished but is still a bit tired in areas. The destinations were all great and there are plenty of on board activities for everyone.

Navigator of the Seas, Royal Caribbean receive excellent scores from me on all counts!  The staff at every venue was always friendly, courteous, helpful.  The ship itself was incredible.  I really hated to leave, and can't wait to go back!!

Good times by Cruiser894

Navigator of the Seas was a good cruise. I enjoyed the dance classes with Joshua, servers David & Harold at dinner in the dining room. Most shows were good, but the ballroom show was poor. Elvis shows were great! Thoroughly enjoyed the senior tsp dancers. They were very inspiring! The ice show was the best!

Everything was great except the noise level in the stateroom we had chosen by sskibur1

We stayed in a Promenade room on the sixth floor (6281).  The room was great but we were above the speakers in the promenade and across from Two Poets bar.  We heard the pounding of bass from 8 am to 11pm to 12 am.  We have stayed in this type of room before but on the 7th floor.  Sound was not an issue in that room.  The service, food and entertainment was very good.

Just ok by zahnja54

The amount of time in some ports was not ideal - for example 2 pm-10 pm in s

San Juan and having to be back on the ship by 2 pm on Labadee. We had several maintenence issues in our cabin, although once we reported them they were resolved quickly. The upgrades such as flat screen TVs and interactive systems were great-but the bedding was not as comfortable as higher class ships. Quest game had to be cancelled 2X because the ice rink floor would not close.

Embarkation was very quick - but we arrived around 10:30 am. Debarkation was not well organized. We used self service - leaving at 7:30 am, but found some of the handling of the customs lines to be poor. We were forced into a line that was also used for passengers in wheelchairs - so while the other lines around us proceeded through customs quickly - we waited while one wheelchair passenger after another skipped in front of us. We finally complained and the person directing people forward allowed us to move to another line.

I was very excited when this cruise was booked.  We had not been on a Royal Caribbean Cruise since our first cruise in 2003.  We arrived at the cruise port and really didnt have issues getting onto the ship.  Explored the ship and was impressed with the size and decor.  After being on the ship for a few hours, we began to notice the attitudes of most the staff was poor.  Our day at sea was ok at best. There were signs placed outside by the deck that stated no reserving of seats but we notice several seats were roped off for guests, but were barely used.  We also noticed that the buffet and ice cream machines were closed down before 10pm.  The ice cream machines were seldomly maintained.  If you weren't interested in going to the clubs or bars, there really was nothing to do after 10pm.  There was only 3 occasions where the pool tv screen was used for anything other than a screen saver.  The coffee was absolutely horrible and we noticed that the workers never replaced the filters when brewing more.  We found ourselves waiting for the cruise to be over after a few days which is not good considering the money spent.  Also, we were constantly approached by staffing several times daily wanting us to spend more money on the specialty restaurants. We were not able to port in Grand Cayman due to poor sea conditions for tendering.  I understand this happens but at least make an attempt to correct it by maintaining the food and possibly offering activitues during the extra day at sea.  Labadee was a very piss poor experience. Everything is segregated, certain card members had areas roped off.  The only beach for everyone offered no swimming. There were staff that wanted high amounts of money for access to beaches and wanted money for the use of lounge chairs.   An overall poor experience with Royal Caribbean Cruise line . We will only book Princess or Carnival from now on.

Having only cruised once before, and on a different cruise line, we did not know what to expect aboard the Navigator.  We soon found that this ship and its people live up to the image of elegant combined with fun.  The strengths of this cruise were it's impeccable dining room service, stunning Promenade area, and nice cabins.  Areas for improvement were the flow of service at the bars, poolside layout and

2016 Family Vacation by Cruiser275

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

My family and I had a wonderful time on the cruise. I definitely recommend RCL cruise vacation to a family who enjoys spending quality time together and at the same time can enjoy activities that are age appropriate.

Just ok by daoamo

The ship and the room were clean and spacious. The stateroom attendants( Cherrymae and Conrad, we had 2 rooms) were wonderful.  The dining staff, Rodrigo and Neil were amazing.  They were our standout who made the cruise better for us.  The food in the windjammer, where you have breakfast and lunch was abundant and adequate. Food in the mail dining room was good.  Drinks were 11.00 each and very good.  The excursions were expensive.  We were so disappointed that  we were unable to dock in the Grand Caymans.  Jamaica was ok.  We did a Dunes/Beach excursion that was $129.00 each.  Our 7 hours excursion was far, The Dunes was one hour away and the beach was one and a half hours back.  The Dunes was fun, however a lot of the guides skipped sections because it was so crowed.  I noticed groups starting half way through and did not even know. My family missed one section and was also unaware.  At the beach we had 2 hours with lunch(I thought it would be longer) The food was just ok and we were only there 90 min. The Beach was nice and clean however we were not there long enough.  Labadee was nice, we had a cabana on the water (500.00) for the day and it was wonderful. Make sure you have a Labadoozie, Loved it!   The seaweed on the bottom was horrible but we had brought our water shoes so that made it better.  Nice cabana, water, floats, attendant, it was extremely relaxing and we were there from 10-4:30. So, we felt it was worth the money. Food was provided by the ship and was fine.  Internet was  also expensive $20.00 a day and the second device $10.00  You have to pay once you start and until the end of the cruise.  You cant just get it for a day.

You are constantly asked to make a reservation in one of the upgraded restaurant at an extra charge.  We did go to one.  We took a sushi class for $30/per person. It was fun.  You made 4 rolls each and that was your lunch.  It was worth it.  A 25% discount on your next meal made it nice to go back. Janice was our server and so nice, food is very good at Izumi.  I would probably not do a Navigator of the Sea cruise again.

We'll be back! by delanoditsch

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Cruise Director, Jerome, and his staff make the trip worthwhile no matter what the weather. He was the director on our first cruise a couple of years ago on the Majesty of the Seas, and no one has been able to come close to comparing since. We were so excited to find out he's now on the Navigator!

Because of ocean swells, we were unable to stop in Grand Cayman - tender boats were not allowed out. Disappointing, but not RC's fault. The excursion desk was swamped with people (including us) wanting to redo their excursions in the remaining ports, and all went smoothly and swiftly.

The wait staff is phenomenal! Truly a place where "everyone knows your name".

"Problems of Cruising" by ronkathleen45

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Item # 1.-My cabin was not centrally located!-My cabin was clear at the end of the "Aft" section!--The Windjammer dining room was clear at the end of the front of the ship!(On the 11th deck).

Item #2-the visit to Grand Cayman was cancelled because of high waves.

Item #3:I expected a church service on Sunday-(We've had church services on previous cruises)-not this time-I was very disappointed!

Item # 4:I've had complementary BP checks on previous cruises-not this time-(there are no "Freebies"on this cruise.-Except for the delicious meals that were available.

Item #5:I didn't care much for the visit to the Island of Labadee-there wasn't a proper landing dock- we were required to wade through knee high water to get to shore.(There was one young lad that was expecting a large tip for escorting me to the shore!)

Item #6:On my next cruise,I believe I would prefer to visit the Virgin Islands  instead.-I heard that there is a beautiful place called "St.Thomas".

I made a mistake traveling alone-I should've had a friend with me.

Mediocre by brandiemartin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This cruise was not our favorite.  We felt the ship was not as clean as past cruise ships that we have been on.  The balcony was horribly dirty and although they were cleaned during our cruise they still didn't clean the glass. It was disappointing to not be able to stop in Grand Cayman, although understanding as to why.  We also felt that one of the male daytime bartenders at Boleros bar had horrible customer service skills and basically ignored customers even when the bar had very few patrons. The rest of the staff was great.  There was some pool bartenders that were poor as well.  I think the wait staff in the dining room was fabulous as was the food.  Our room attendant was good and very friendly. The Windjammer Cafe' has always been a nice option, but the way the specialty restaurant staff solicit business while you are trying to eat is horrible. We were approached 2 times during one meal on different occasions. I think this is ridiculous.  Overall I think it may be quite a while before we take a cruise on Royal Caribbean again.

Holiday Cruise by Cruiser264

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The ship was over crowded and under served.  The food in the dining room was average at best, the food in the extra restaurants was outstanding.  The crew was apathetic and not what we have experienced in the past.  Probably the worst part of the cruise was the nickel and dimeing every time you turned the corner.  I have no problem paying for an enjoyable experience but very much dislike having to pay at every turn.  Tell me what it cost up front and leave me alone.  If we choose to cruise again it will be with a higher end company as possibly this will solve a number of issues including over crowding, service, food etc.  The islands were great and the cabin was adequate.

Royal Caribbean was excellent.  Service was fantastic.  One small issue, the boat did not handle the rough seas.  The first two to three days were rough waters and you could feel that even if the boat was huge.

Needed more daylight in Puerto Rico.

Nice trip, really enjoyed by 804good

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything was good, especially the service at formal dinning room was the best. But the buffet seemed same everyday, not too much choices. Cabin service was good. The ice show was awesome, kids loved it; but kids were not interested in other performances. The nightclub was not too much fun. Children's program was ok, but the night programs ran too late, we didn't like it, although kids wanted to stay. Excursion at Cayman was the best. We bought some good stuff at Jamaica.

Navigator of the Seas is a great mid size ship. by ysantana12

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My husband and I had a great time. The purpose of our trip was to relax. We stayed in a Jr. Suite and it was beautiful.  The crew was very nice and the food was great.  The Sabor Mexican specialty restaurant was delicious.  However, I must say that for an 8 night cruise the Theater entertainment was lacking.

Although the food seems to have taken an economic hit, the overall cruise was very enjoyable.  Our cabin steward Minette was outstanding as well as our servers.

Just OK by kissimmee2014

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Navigator of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Loud, make that very loud music everywhere. Mostly screeching rock music. Mediocre food, Very good service. Shows were good - if one brings ear plugs.Ports OK. Ports are mostly shopping trips. Drinks are very expensive. Card room is a joke. Windjammer was poorly designed (large columns in the way) and food lacked variety and not as good as other cruises.
