Review summary
I was very excited when this cruise was booked. We had not been on a Royal Caribbean Cruise since our first cruise in 2003. We arrived at the cruise port and really didnt have issues getting onto the ship. Explored the ship and was impressed with the size and decor. After being on the ship for a few hours, we began to notice the attitudes of most the staff was poor. Our day at sea was ok at best. There were signs placed outside by the deck that stated no reserving of seats but we notice several seats were roped off for guests, but were barely used. We also noticed that the buffet and ice cream machines were closed down before 10pm. The ice cream machines were seldomly maintained. If you weren't interested in going to the clubs or bars, there really was nothing to do after 10pm. There was only 3 occasions where the pool tv screen was used for anything other than a screen saver. The coffee was absolutely horrible and we noticed that the workers never replaced the filters when brewing more. We found ourselves waiting for the cruise to be over after a few days which is not good considering the money spent. Also, we were constantly approached by staffing several times daily wanting us to spend more money on the specialty restaurants. We were not able to port in Grand Cayman due to poor sea conditions for tendering. I understand this happens but at least make an attempt to correct it by maintaining the food and possibly offering activitues during the extra day at sea. Labadee was a very piss poor experience. Everything is segregated, certain card members had areas roped off. The only beach for everyone offered no swimming. There were staff that wanted high amounts of money for access to beaches and wanted money for the use of lounge chairs. An overall poor experience with Royal Caribbean Cruise line . We will only book Princess or Carnival from now on.
