Review summary

A cruise with a great itinerary. Lovely ports of call. Superb weather. However the ship is in a ropey state of repair which is soon to be renovated thank goodness!!

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Brilliantly organised and quick

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
Sorry but the food remains very samey!! Windjammer quite disappointing this trip. Perfectly edible just not very exciting

Onboard Activities

4 out of 5
Good activities such as mini golf and baggo!!

Entertainment

4 out of 5
The orchestra and headliner sometimes were really good. Darren day was superb together with tenors unlimited!! The east coast boys were good too! However the Caribbean singers and dancers were not that great. The singers spent most of the time screaming and shouting which was very off putting!!

Service and Staff

4 out of 5
All the staff were great. Cabin steward very friendly and efficient. The diamond concierge was lovely.

Ship Quality

3 out of 5
Okay but in desperate need of a refit and upgrade. Good to hear that is going to happen in November. Carpets on Deck 6 were frankly a disgrace. Sorry and stained!

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
The actual cabin was as expected. A good size and well equipped. However the balcony itself needs to be renovated.

Ship tip

Join in as much as possible and get off in every port even if it's just to look around on your own!!

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England

5 out of 5
Just to embark and disembark. No problems.

Gibraltar (U.K.)

5 out of 5
We love Gibraltar having visited several times before. We just walked into town and had a mooch and a cocktail. A tip is to walk in if able rather than a taxi as it's only a 15 minute stroll.

Villefranche-Sur-Mer, France

5 out of 5
Amazing port. It is tendered so the ship is anchored away from the actual port. Great fun in light seas. The port itself is idyllic with several lovely shops.

Ajaccio, Corsica

4 out of 5
We just got off and had a pleasant wander.

Cagliari, Sardinia

4 out of 5

Palma De Mallorca, Balearic Islands

4 out of 5
An overnight stopover in Palma. Just lovely but the walk into town is a long hike. Paying for a transfer is a good idea. Palma is a large city with a fun atmosphere and good shopping.

Malaga, Spain

5 out of 5
We have visited Malaga a few times. We always get on the little train which is just outside the ship. It drops us close to the shops and restaurants.

Cadiz (Seville), Spain

5 out of 5
Stop is docked 5 minutes from town. A lovely walk in and the shops have the best bargains ever. Especially short sleeved shirts and polos for ,€10.
