Not for me! by DaveO58158118

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I haven't been on a cruise before so I don't have anything to compare it to so my opinions may be a little off, but I did not enjoy the ship at all. Nothing to do if you have kids, which is kind of ironic considering that they offer kids free with two paying adults, which is probably one of the good points. If you are on a tight budget and looking to go on a cruise then maybe you won't mind so much the lack of everything. The food was bad, really bad, my son and I pretty much ate cold pizza the whole time. I would never go again.....

Average Cruise LIne by FredS5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Controlled payments to dinner staff and cabin stewards when poor service is provided was inappropriate. Embarkation was a huge conflict with personnel waiting and the 1 person in charge (much yelling by the MSC person). Poor food service. Poor menu. We have been on 30 cruises, and won't go on this line again.

Paid for seven days and received less by HR52835069

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

First time on MSC and was very disappointed with the departure and arrival time. Originally cruise was to depart Sunday at 7:00pm, this is late compare to other cruise lines, instead we departed at 11:00pm (supposedly waiting for other arriving passengers). Arrival was due on Sunday at 8:00 am, instead we arrived on Saturday at 11:00pm. Again no reasons given. Food service was non-exinstent after dinner and food quality was somewhat average for an Italian cruise line. Did enjoyed the diversity of people on the ship. Europe, Asia, The Americas, all were represented on the ship. The ship was fairly new (2008) and the cabins were really nice, clean and spacious (We had balcony). There were many areas for family gathering but the ship lacked a large gathering place(main entrance). Entertaiment was acceptable, but not as good as other cruise lines. Anthony and his "diversion" team were very good. Translating every announcements into five different languages was over top. Port of calls were OK and did not have much in terms of sightseeing or shopping, except for Cozumel which had fairly decent places for souvenirs. Did not care much for Ocho Rios Jamaica. Cayman Island and Cozumel are very good places for snorkling and/or scuba diving.

Best cruise ever! by ValerieH2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I loved it. I was a tad skeptical going in but I was so pleased with so many things. The boat was very clean, the food was so delicious, the staff was very friendly and helpful. My cabin was perfect. The bathroom was great. Great water pressure, toilets flushed well. I loved my balcony! It really could have not been better. This was my 7th cruise and my favorite!

An Ok first Cruise by JohnH24

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was clean and the cleaning staff were great at keeping things in shape. Restaurant staff were very good. Concierge staff(mostly european.italian) were not so pleasant. Another major issue was the length of the cruise. A 7 days cruise - Not quite. Left Ft. Lauderdale 5 hours late and got back into Ft Lauderdale 7 hours early and sat overnight at the dock on the last night. so the cruise in fact was really only 6.5 days.

Really had a great time ! by Chuckd

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The Poesia is a beautiful ship that was kept in pristine condition by the crew. There was cleaning and polishing going on everywhere and I must say that everthing about the ship exceeded my expectations.

I would think twice before booking a MSC by Pat7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

We went on the 3 day cruise over the Veteran's day holiday. When we arrived at the port we were told it was a hard rock cruise. I had only booked it ten days prior and was never told of the entertainment. The remaining entertainment on the boat was geared for a much older crowd.

Fabulous cruise to see rainforest by Bl11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great time. Ship was kept impecably clean, Marco Phillipe Theater shows were 1st quality. Dinners at Le Fontane were exceptional, so well prepared, service was more than excellent! Great ports w/ the exception of Puerto Limon - not the best city to discover, but excursions were great - could have been a little more affordable. Food at top floor could have offerd a few moew healthy choices. Only one day did they have yummy arugula salad! Very, very accomodating. Had a great time except for the way they handled my lost Fla driver's license. Poor follow up! Never able to retrieve or have hope to retieve.

Nice ship but the food is a disgrace by StefanH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Caribbean

boarded in New York for a 13 days cruise to the caribbean. If it had not been for the japanese restaurant (1 of 2 restaurants where you need to pay for the food) I would have left the ship allready in Florida. The food on this ship, is so bad, that you would not believe it. It is mostly italian food, since it is an italian ship, but dont expect good pizza and pasta. The pizza was probaly the worst of them all. The food in the nice evening dinner saloon tasted like it came from the micro. The juice in the morning buffet is water, and if you decide to pay for "fresh orange juice", they take it from a can. Its not fresh. Like one if the staff onboard told me; "free food never tast good" The food on this ship will keep me away from ANY msc-cruises in the future.

MSC Poesia Cruise Fall Foliage New Engla by EleanorE1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

MSC Cruise ship Poesia, do not bother with this line. They have no entertainment worth speaking of on the ship. No in room movies unless you pay and they are all old and have been on tv. Few English channels and they are CNN or ESPN and one TNT channel. No port talks and tour personnel were lacking information on the ports, just what was written. Cancelled tour excursions consistently. Food from dinner was served as leftovers for lunch the next day. The main dining room had the same menu for lunch everyday, no changes. The ship staff was unwilling to assist and would just say sorry, madam. Compared with all the main cruiseship lines, this one is very far behind. The tour excursions were all interesting but mostly on buses. The tour guides on the buses were very good, they were through Atlantic Tour Co. Stick to NCL or RCCL or Celebrity, etc.

Great Ship by VickiB1

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: MSC Poesia / Destination: Canada, New England, New York

The ship was exceptional. Our suite was very nice and well located on the 15th floor. The only feature that I missed was a "crow's nest". The fitness center was where this has been on other ships.
