The same advice I would give about any other cruise; study the ship and the company beforehand. There tones of reviews and videos online to go through to make judgment on if this boat is for you. Don’t believe everything you read. A lot of bad reviews by people for different reasons. If it was that bad then people would not keep going.

I've cruised on several lines, and regrettably, MSC would not be on the top of my list for a return. meraviglia staff was for the most part, great.

Don’t go! Embarkation was a disaster, you have to pay the better show and better food and on top of that you have to make booking in advance just crazy because a cruise is supposed and used to be free if worry so it’s ridiculous you have to go thru all that bs and even when you try to book restaurants they said there is not reservations and you looked at the places and are almost empty at times requested. The food in the included restaurant tastes like frozen food and is like a cafeteria and si full that you have to wait a lot is just a nightmare.

During embarkation, pay attention to multiple available lines to go through security. Everyone just seemed to follow whoever was in front of them when there were other lines that were much shorter. Pick a mid ship to aft cabin to be close to everything, but avoid aft cabin if you have mobility issues as there are no aft passenger elevators.

You have to leave your key card in slot to turn on lights by door! If you take it off it turns off your lights and ac. Pretty much figure that out on your own.

Great overall cruise. I just wish that MSC would get some different itineraries. All the places visited are the same.

(1) If you can carry all yout luggage, then take all of them as hand luggage. We lost our checked luggage. Although we got lucky that it was found after 3 hours but still very annoying that we had drove all the way back to the port to pick it up. (2) If you want professional photography, then you need to take it before the fourth day. They only sell pictures not take pictures on the last night.

Be prepared to wait in line for everything. Drinks at the bar, food in the buffet, going to see a show, disembarking.
