Overall our first cruise trip was great except for the experience of lost luggage and that is also something we learned from our experience. We certainly will be better prepared for our second, third.... cruise trip!

The embarkation itself is fast but it takes a long time to get to the counter during 11-12:30. Will try avoiding the peak time next time.

We liked buffets more than the dinner. We went to the main dinner room the first evening. The dinner didn't taste any better than the buffet that we had during the lunch time and it took a lot longer to wait for the dishes so we ended up with having buffet for the rest of the trip.
Onboard Activities

We liked the water park on level 19 it was cool to do all the water slides on the open sea. Although the thrilling level is definitely a lot lower than those regular water parks, it was just fine for me and my kid. We enjoyed it a lot. Plus we don't need to wait a long line to ride the slides like those popular water parks on the ground.
We also loves the hot tub, very relaxing and 2 of them had background view of the ocean which is very cool when taking pictures.
Entertainment

Broadway shows were good but don't really think they're suitable for family with kids under 10 yrs. Probably this is due to the theme of the cruise. If that is the case, we will consider another cruise that is more kids friendly. Anyway this is our first cruise trip and I just want to know whether I like it or not in general. Turns out I like cruise a lot and there are a lot options to choose from anyway.

Ship tip
(1) If you can carry all yout luggage, then take all of them as hand luggage. We lost our checked luggage. Although we got lucky that it was found after 3 hours but still very annoying that we had drove all the way back to the port to pick it up. (2) If you want professional photography, then you need to take it before the fourth day. They only sell pictures not take pictures on the last night.
It certainly doesn't happen to everyone but we lost our checked luggage. Although it was found later that day, it is still annoying for any traveler, imagine you have to catch the flight etc... I wasn't given any reason why the checked luggage was lost and how it was found. There was actually nobody at the disembarkation security who actually checked the cruise card vs the luggage even though it says this will be mannually checked in the disembarkation video. What if someone takes the wrong luggage? There is almost no way to avoid that mistake.. Also I didn't realize that MSC is not responsible for any luggage damage or lost until I lost my luggage. So it means the best we can do to be responsible for our luggage is take them hand luggage and buy luggage insurance in advance! I wish MSC can do better for checked luggage during disembarkation. Gave 2 stars because mine was found on the same day. If not found then I won't give any star:(
