Review summary

In general the cruise was good apart from the noise in the cabin issue. Although only our third cruise with MSC, we had Gold Cards due to their loyalty match scheme which gave us a few little perks

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Embarked early but as usual general signage was not great to assist in directing you

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

4 out of 5
Actually felt no compulsion to use the main restaurant as we were quite content with the grills, pizza and buffet selections

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Pools are salt water and well maintained. Hot tubs were difficult to get in and out of and difficult to find space in with large groups hogging them

Entertainment

2 out of 5
Very much aimed at the Italian customers which made it difficult to join in with, not that we wanted to

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Staff were very friendly and attentive although more were needed as they struggled to cope at times, especially clearing tables for use.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Wil laid out and spotlessly clean

Cabin / Stateroom

3 out of 5
Very spacious cabin with nice clear view out of window but it needed cleaning on the outside. Shower was small and curtain stuck to you when in the shower. Major issue with hydraulic machinery noise which meant we never had a good night's sleep. Reported every day but no solution found Moved to a vacant cabin once night but smelt of cigarette smoke Received a token 'Sorry' with Prosecco and Canapes, not exactly bed as we were on a drinks package

Ship tip

It's a nice size ship with plenty of space

Ports of call

Chania, Crete

4 out of 5
Shuttle bus drops you off in an area close to old town but no clear directions to get there bir with the adventure, harbour is lovely and I recommend the octopus!

Venice, Italy

4 out of 5
Have been before so knew our way around from airport to cruise terminal using public transport

Bari, Italy

4 out of 5
Nice little stroll around the narrow streets of the old town and watched some amazing pasta machine nonnas in action

Split, Croatia

4 out of 5
A busy place, especially the historic area

Argostoli, Kefalonia, Greece

4 out of 5
A quiet place, not much to do so most headed out to the beaches

Santorini, Greece

4 out of 5
As there were three ships anchored off, the line for the cable car was very long so allow plenty of time to get up to Fira

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
Was able to change disembarkation time to allow more time in Venice
